I am writing about my experience here, because today when I went there I witnessed terrible service towards our table. However, every other table was treated nicely and with respect. I wish I could say the same thing about our’s. Me and my grandparents went there tonight, and everything was fine at first, we got our orders in and such. It was a good start. However, as the dinner went on, some of the waitresses started to harshly glare at us and side eye us. For example, one time I saw one of them walk by, and harshly side eyeing my grandma. My grandma’s back was facing her so she didn’t notice anything. Also, whenever I looked over at the counter, they were either working on something, or looking and talking about us. Therefore, the service here was unacceptable, and rude. The food was great, but I can’t say the same about the service. One of the rude waitresses, looked like she was the manager, so for such a high level of job there you would think she would be better than that. There was one good employee, he was very nice, and looked like he enjoyed his job. He took care of everyone there, and was super friendly. I can’t believe such a great restaurant could be this bad. To Improve: Make sure your workers treat everyone with respect and kindness. I know this is a lot of writing, but I want everyone to know my harsh service that I got from this restaurant. I hope to see a better future of this restaurant. Thanks...

We spent the night at a hotel in Effingham as we drove long distance and looked at Dash for a restaurant for delivery to the hotel. We chose Joe’s Pizza and Pasta and did not think too much about it. We ordered a chicken Alfredo and a side salad. Gosh what a nice surprise. First the amount was enough for two. I know enough about Italian food to know it is hard to find authentic Italian food in the US (let alone in a medium size city) and trust me: this is authentic. The pasta seems home made, the sauce was light and definitely they cooked the garlic in the sauce the way true Italians do (and not in the excess that Americans think that Italians do) . The chicken was sliced in a unique manner. They sent 2 rolls with it. All for a super reasonable price and that was more than enough to feed 2 people. Maybe because I had low expectations, I was wowed with the overall experience. I liked it so much that I might route myself through Effingham the next time I drive through this area just because of the pull this restaurant had on...

The place was close to full but we did get a booth (our choice of booth or regular table.) We were able to order right away. Salad came super fast. Before we were finished eating our salad our mushrooms were brought to the table. They slice portobello mushrooms! Lightly breaded. You can actually taste the mushrooms. Then the pasta quickly followed. The service was fast. The food tasted amazing. We did not get checked on unless they were bringing up our food. Only thing we didn't realize is that they don't bring your bill to the table. We ended up waiting at our table for almost a half hour and had tried to get their attention. So we just talked. No one made us feel rushed also no one checked in on us during that time to see if we needed anything. Eventually we just went to the counter and paid. I still highly recommend this place. The food was so good that I didn't take the time to take pictures for...

Joe's pizza in Effingham IL. super tasty! #pizza #foodtiktok #pizzaacrossamerica #effingham #illinois #roadtrip

Wow, this was really good pizza. We don’t get Chicago style pizza anywhere near Cincinnati, so I take the chance when I can. Effingham, Illinois has a fantastic spot near the center of the old part of town called Joe’s Pizza and Pasta. The Chicago style pizza was just amazing. I got the XL hoping to sneak leftovers across the border. This was truly a great pizza and the service was top notch. I was only able to get 2 pieces of the XL down, so 6 more slices when I get home. Stacy was my server and she was absolutely super in describing the menu and her service was excellent.

Stopped in when I was visiting from out of town as I like trying anything local. I should have looked elsewhere or just ordered the pizza. The salad was fine and the bread was okay, but the spaghetti sauce on my pasta was watered down and tasted like it came from a can, and the meatballs tasted like they were thawed from the freezer. And they only put on two meatballs. Really, just two? Next time I'm in Effingham I think I'm going elsewhere to eat.
