I had ordered ahead on the app thinking that might make picking up my sons food faster. Pulled up to the speaker and was asked to wait. So I waited between 5 and 10 minutes then told them I had an app order they said to pull on up to the window. I get tothe window and see my sons shake and soda sitting on the counter ready to go so thought food must be about done also........nope I sat at the window and waited just a couple minutes shy of 30 minutes I kept hoping at that point they were going to remake my sons shake and soda because it was just sitting there that whole time melting.....finally hand me the melting shake and the watered down soda and the bag of food. While waiting on the steak and shake food I wen ahead and ordered 2 orders of cheese sticks and an order of breadsticks and sauce from Little Ceasars so that would be ready for pickup so when I finally left steak and shake I went for the sticks and they told me they were still working on the cheesesticks and to pull to the front of the store so I pulled upfront and sat and sat and sat ANOTHER 30 minutes before I finally walked into and asked her about them amd she just kind of looked at me awkwardly like she didn't know what I was saying I told her I had ordered ahead and had went through the drive through and she told me to go park and she would bring it out to me bur she never did. You could tell by her expression that she completely forgot about me waiting on the food and I was so frustrated by this point because I had a shake completely melting out of the cup onto the cup holder outside in my vehicle with what was by then the cold food from steak and shake. So she grabs the food but forgets a couple of the sauces that go with them which I didn't even notice until I got home. Neither place offered a refund or coupons for the wait or anything! So I travel back home to tell 3 teen boys that I was so sorry they had to wait 2 hours for me to get it all picked up and back home and on top of all that the food was cold and gross from all the time it had sat. Read moreDon't get me wrong the food was amazing, I ordered a burger, fries, and chocolate milkshake. The thing is I haven't eaten at Steak 'n Shake for 11 years so as you can imagine some things changed. For one there are machines that you order from at the counter. I remember when there was human interaction, as in there used to be waitresses that would seat you and bring you your drinks, and ask what you'd like to order. It's not like that anymore. I don't know if it's because of covid and social distancing that we decided to go with ordering our food on machines nowadays rather than having human interactions. Either way it's something that I miss. All in all the food was great, the service was great especially the woman who made and brought me my milkshake. That's prolly the only human interaction I really had. And it was decent. But I miss having waitresses sit you down. It gives Steak 'n Shake its own signature atmosphere. And not having that strips that away. It used to feel like a family restaurant with happy faces. Now it's just machines you order your food on. I understand having that at McDonald's, and Sonic, but not Steak 'n Shake. I guess that's what happens after 11 years. I wish the memory of having waitresses wasn't still just a memory in time. Read moreI purchased 4 burger meals ahead through online ordering. We arrived at 10:15am and the drive thru had 2 customers ahead. They gave our order to the wrong person. When we called to get the order corrected they attempted to fix it. However the order was wrong again. One of us called originally to ask what was going on because it was ordered in advance. Then called again when the second order was wrong. They ignored the call from my party and I had to call on my cell just so they would answer for one of us. When I called the lady was short about correcting the issue. She asked if I wanted my order re made after I informed her that I do not eat mayonnaise. When she brought the final correct order to us that we didn't ask for mustard and ketchup that we asked for ketchup and mayo. We asked why she never apologized for the mishap and she dug in and insisted she did. She did not. We asked to speak to the manager we waited about 10 to 15 minutes for the manager. The manager never came out. This steak and shake is completely filled with idiots that can't even decipher a basic order or even have the decency to apologize and own up to their mistakes. This is the reason why steak and shakes are going the way of the dinosaur. I work in food service its not rocket science to flip a damn burger. All in all ill never come back to this location and I implore anyone reading this to patronize another more competent restaurant...
