EL CILANTRO MEXICAN GRILL — Restaurant in El Cajon

It looks dirty and old! Some of the cashier are nice but there's this one young girl dark long hair maybe 20 she's very rude. The food isn't to bad it's hit n miss.

I'd like to up date this place! It has gotten really run down way worse. And all the girls that take your order are beyond rude n arrogant. I ordered 6 tacos n I was giving 1 salsa, I asked for 3 more being I got 6 tacos, her reply is u get 1 per two taco, I said why did u give me only 1 salsa than for 6 tacos aren't you short 2 more. Her reply was ill do it this time but not again. My reply was well I can do bussiness n spend my money at another taco shop that doesn't tell me how to eat my tacos with limited salsa that I can't enjoy my food that I'm paying for. I bet when they go to McDonald's or other buger joints they take all the keychup n mustard they want so they can eat their food n enjoy it the way like it!! Or even taco bell has unlimited taco sauce smh! The dirtyness n rudeness is unbelievable n they lie about what they put in the bag when u ask, u get home n non of it is in the bag, this place is a don't go to taco shop. Not sure how this place is still in bussiness from all perspectives!!! Even the rude replies from the owner when we post our reviews. It explains it all. Btw their food isn't cheap, burrito is $12 n small n dry nasty, rest of food has gone up alot. Back to their original prices to when it first opened up n the place was like a ghost town then. The tacos were $1 all wk that's what brought customers in they're $1.30 now. So that's the only cheap item they have. That was their marketing approach sell cheap tacos n then raise their prices after getting people in the door. Pay attention to the girls that are making the salsa in the big white dirty buckets in the kitchen n how she puts her whole arm in the bucket with no gloves on to fill the salsa cups. Just look at the kitchen it selve n how they all conduct themselves in the kitchen, just disgusting!!!! The Health dept needs to give this place a visit n shut it down!!! The place to go to is Ponchos on Broadway n mollison across from Food For Less. OMG their food is always a hit n the service n food is amazing!!! Service with a smile n no limit on the salsa lol. I just went through the drive through and I complained about hem not having coffee the last I’ve been there. Being an easy sale and with this cold. At the window I checked that the bean burrito I ordered for my daughter didn’t have cheese since she is allergic and the cashier seemed displeased about me checking. I drove off and then noticed she forgot to give me one of my drinks since she was staring and giving me a dirty look for checking my food. I called the restaurant and I told them I was missing a drink. It was the cashier at the phone and she mockingly laughed and said that I had checked the order. I realized it was the cashier and asked to talk to someone else. To wish she proceeded to say that I was gonna have to talk to her since she was the manager…. I repeated that she forgot my drink and she was still in her “power trip” saying that i was gonna talk to her. She told me I had an attitude. To wish I repeated my self for the 3rd time that she had forgotten to give me my drink and I wanted a coffee next time I went. She continued in her “power” trip and said yet again that I was gonna have to talk to her and that I had he option of going now again or have my name written down. I repeated myself yet again a 4th time that I wanted a coffee for next time. It is so very upsetting to deal with someone like this. I have never felt so disrespected in my life when it came to a restaurant. I have never had to write a review but I want people to know about the horrible service me and my family received from this place. I have been eating here for years but lately it really changed. For the past few months, we have been receiving pork in our food when we ask for beef only. And every time that we call this place to redo the order or see what the problem is, the answer me and my family receive is “there is nothing we can do”. Me and my family do not eat any type of pork. When we went to order beef tacos today, we made sure to check them because every time we get it, there are always bits of pork mixed with the beef for some reason. We pulled over and found bits and big pieces in every single taco. My dad walked in asking why and if we can redo this order. The lady in the front said “just take the pieces out.” My dad replied with “we can’t eat pork” and all the lady said was “there isn’t anything we can do about it”. So we left the food and left the restaurant. As someone who doesn’t eat pork because of religion, I would never judge or disrespect anyone who eats it because everyone is different and has different beliefs. But the fact that a restaurant is mixing meats together when we asked for only beef is not only disgusting but a violation. After today, me and my family will not be coming back because of this.
