I recently visited a taco shop and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. The main reason for my disappointment was the behavior of one of the cashiers, whose name identified her as Marisela on the receipt but she said her name was Jenny when I expressed my desire to complain. From the moment I approached the counter, her demeanor was anything but welcoming.
Marisela's rude and dismissive attitude was apparent right from the start. She didn't bother to greet me or ask about my order preferences. Instead, she appeared impatient and annoyed, as if my presence was an inconvenience. Her lack of basic customer service skills was truly disheartening.
As I tried to place my order, Marisela displayed no interest in listening or understanding my requests. She repeatedly interrupted me and seemed irritated when I asked for clarifications on the menu items. It felt as if she wanted to rush me through the ordering process without any regard for my satisfaction as a customer.
What struck me the most was Marisela's tone of voice and condescending remarks. She made snide comments and rolled her eyes, clearly demonstrating her disregard for providing a pleasant dining experience. Her behavior was not only unprofessional but also made me feel unwelcome and disrespected as a customer.
To add insult to injury, Marisela's lack of attention to detail resulted in mistakes in my order. When I politely pointed out the errors, she responded with further hostility, as if it was my fault for expecting accuracy and quality.
Overall, my encounter with Marisela, the cashier at this taco shop, was deeply disappointing. Her rude demeanor, lack of professionalism, and condescending behavior significantly tarnished what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. I sincerely hope that the management addresses these issues promptly, as no customer should be subjected to such treatment.
Please note that this review is based on my personal experience and should not necessarily reflect the overall quality of the taco...
Read moreGot nachos and it cost about $18.50. that's not even what it costs downtown. Chicken very salty. The bottom layer of the nachos are all the crumbles from the bottom of the bag. I won't be going back. And I tried them one other time before maybe a month ago, I ordered a chicken California burrito with chipotle sauce. When I got home it started eating, I noticed that it was no Chipotle sauce. I called in and told the young lady who was working, all she said was "Oh." Then Dead silence 🤣 no offer to fix it or add it for free next time or anything, but I definitely paid for it. It's obvious that a lot of Mexican food places and San Diego know that they don't have to depends on customer service to get customers. O well 🤷🏿♂️
Okay so update : it's been a while, so I figured maybe I'll give them another shot. I tried to call in, but after waiting at the red light on 2nd Street for about 2 minutes, I figured, fine I'm close enough, no big deal. Even though I could clearly see from where I was, no one was in the drive-thru, no one was at the Flint counter up front. I asked what was in the surf and turf burrito and they said that two of the ingredients were tomatoes and Bell peppers. Not Pico de gallo, specifically tomatoes and bell peppers. So I wasn't interested in it. I decided to go for a California burrito because that's a San Diego staple, and it has the same recipe, you just have to get it right. I'll attach pictures of the slot that was inside of the tortilla. They put bell peppers and actual cubed potatoes in it. That's not what goes in California burritos. Everybody knows California burritos come with french fries. They always have! Related to not ask me if I wanted any hot sauce and took her a while to come to the window because she was talking to the other young lady working there. Overall, this place really doesn't care about its customer service or quality, won't...
Read moreSpeaking as an El Compadre Virgin: I just pulled off the highway for a quick stop at the gas station across the street. I noticed this place and thought I'd try it out. Not knowing what to expect, at first glance at the menu, I thought it seemed a bit expensive, so I only ordered a Beef Taco and Beef Burrito. That came out to just over $11. I was expecting something just above maybe Taco Bell or Del Taco. Boy, was I wrong! The first clue was when he handed me the bag out of the Drive-Thru window. It was so heavy that I almost dropped it. But I only ordered a Burrito and a Taco, right? So I pulled into the parking lot to see what I really had. The second clue was the heavenly aroma that immediately overwhelmed the car. Then I opened the bag...Both items were Huge! And they were stuffed to the brim with the juiciest, most flavorful, shredded beef and all the extras. I was very, very (uh, did I say very) very surprised. It was soooooo good that I finished it all, right there in the parking lot. That's when I realized that it wasn't expensive at all. I got exactly, if not more than what I paid for! And had I ordered more (as I initially intended before checking the menu), I don't think I would have been able to finish it. Those two items were enough. And spoiler alert: If you're dressed nicely, you're gonna need to change your shirt after you're done. So if you're like me and just passing through town and decide to give El Compadre a try...I can confidently say, you will be so happy...
