Somewhat guiltily, I swung in to Popeye's last night a little after 9:00. I had to maneuver around the line of cars in the drive-thru to park. I walked past the 5 or 6 cars waiting to be served, all of their engines running. I wish there were more conscious people and companies that would discourage the waste and pollution of idling. As I went in the front door, I saw that one genius had his car parked, with the engine running, the lights on, and NOBODY IN THE CAR. Drives me nuts. I stopped in there because I remembered that the Popeye's chicken I last had 15 years ago or so was pretty good, so I stood waiting to order for over five minutes, scanning the menus for a la carte ordering, of which there was none. The woman at the counter never acknowledged me or asked if I could be helped, so I finally stepped up and asked the price of a chicken thigh. With the mandatory biscuit, it came to $2.62 with tax. I figured I'd give it a try. I had to ask for butter for the biscuit, something I would normally avoid, but hey, it was included. I was given two small packets. The chicken was very good-hot, juicy, and tasty. I peeled some of the quarter pound of greasy but crisp batter off it to get to the meat. Turns out the "butter" was "40% Something oil whipped Something spread". It was canola oil with 5 or 6 chemicals in it that approximated the color of butter. No cows were involved in its production. The biscuit was somewhat crispy outside, but had that kind of dry doughy inside that makes it hard to swallow unlubricated. The spread I put on it tasted even worse than it sounded, and 2-3 bites of it was all I could take. The bathroom I visited to clean off the grease was reasonably clean, as was the "dining room". Walking back to my parking space, another six cars (or were they the same ones?) idled in line, filling the air around the small joint with invisible carbon-based particulate byproducts. Overall, a somewhat depressing outing that I'll try to...

This restaurant not for white people! Last night the All African American employee crew refused to allow me to purchase food. One such person identified himself as "THE MANAGER", after female said "we're closed". I was there well before 10pm, internet still states: open till 11pm. A group of 3 African American employees (2 women, 1 man) were standing next to drive-in window inside store looking at each other and me when I drove thru, then they got busy and hustled a lot of food together for the occupants of the cars in cars after me -- several bags of food

Earlier, Heavy African American woman taking orders for drive thru came outside, looked at me in my silver 4Runner and quietly spoke to occupants in car in front of me. They then served 2 other cars in front of me, car directly in front then left without food and I left witout food.

I then watched from next door at Burger King with binoculars and camera with telephoto lens; and filmed them serving car behind me and car that was in front of me, which returned and was also served. The occupants of cars served after me were both African American. I could see food being put into bags and bags handed through window to occupants of both cars, along with drinks, by person calling himself MANAGER. The cameras in store will verify all of this. Will obtain a court order by tomorrow to preserve the evidence, and go public. This is 21st Century near San Francisco and Berkeley. There is no place in this area, or California, or United States for this type if hate and ignorance from a company doing business in California, my lawyers will see to that, ...

This place is absolutely horrible. Every time I go in they always have chicken ready but they always have to cook your fries. I'm all about fresh fries but I don't wanna wait 8 minutes when I come in to a fast food restaurant for lunch and I'm the only person in their. Is no way I should have to wait that long and this happened every single time I come here baby you should have a fresh fry routine where you cook a certain amount of fries after every 20 minutes or so you throw them out and cook some new ones so you always have fresh fries and customers don't have to wait in waste so much time period on top of all that you guys are really expensive and most of your restaurants are dirty and have very poor customer service but the chicken is usually so good. So I got about 5 minutes away from this restaurant and opened up the food they gave me I should have done this before because the order was totally wrong so now I had to turn all the way back around go get the right food. When I start digging into it I'm expecting the delicious popeye's chicken that I normally get but when in reality I bit into it and it was old hard and dry so this is definitely gonna be the last time I ever go to this popeye's and I suggest this be the same conclusion for everybody else because this place sucks. It's a shame because I...

I really don't eat food like this very often, but when I do, I have to give credit where credit is due. I had heard a lot about Popeye's Louisiana chicken, and especially about the Popeye's Louisiana chicken sandwich spicy. So, lo and behold, driving home today I saw a Popeye's Louisiana chicken on my way home and decided to give it a try. I got the special, which is a chicken sandwich spicy, Cajun fries, and diet Coke, all for around $11 plus tax, and sat down in the empty place. To be honest the place looked interesting inside, and it was colorful and very clean it reminded me of fast food places in the 70s when they were a little bit more in fashion. The staff was 100% Latino, (Mi Gente), and while I waited for my order I watched them knock out about 50 drive-thru orders with the precision and technique of seal team 6. This Crew does not mess around and they probably sell $50,000 worth of chicken a day. Also I have to say, the place was totally spotless, and the staff was super friendly with me. So like I said, I really don't do fast food but once or twice a year, but the next time I get it fast food craving I'll be going here to the Popeyes on San Pablo avenue in El cerrito. They have the chicken sandwich game on lock.

Irresistibly delicious! A guilty pleasure that should be enjoyed on special occasions especially their Chicken Sandwich that I finally tried. Definitely worth the wait and it is NOTHING like McDonald's chicken sandwich Lol or KFC. 🤤 Something so simple yet so tender, juicy, crispy crunchy chicken that complements the soft buns between, along with their sauce (not to saucy or too light, just right!) And their pickles, makes your mouth salivate for more! Which hopefully they can keep it on their menu permanent so others have the chance to try it!

I want to love this place but i keep running into shenanigans @ popeyes...😢 Food is 𝑂 𝑘 𝑒 𝑦 , service is has a bit to improve on. Bathroom was out of service. Drive thru can be a pain. A pick up to go order isnt too bad. Eating in was a pain due to "out of service" restrooms. I automatically take a star off a place that has that, due to it usually not being a temporarily problem.
