JJ's BBQ — Restaurant in El Dorado

Oh, so, so good. Tiny little off the beaten path place. You smell it as soon as you drive up. I called in an order after I checked out their menu on their web page. So polite on the phone, and everything was just as I ordered it. They packed my large order for me to carry easily and packed everything my coworkers and I would need. I tried both BBQ sauces on my chicken, and both were awesome. My coworkers stuffed potato was enough for two meals. Hands down the best smoked meats i have had in a very long time. I was turned off by the spicy sauce they had, it was way too sweet and tasted like something you would get at a chinese restaurant. Maybe next time I go I will get the regular stuff and give it 5 stars. I shall return!

Well I returned and I was not impressed by the sauce this time. The brisket was, again, amazing but the chopped pork was more meh. I just cannot get passed their sauce, it tastes like warmed up ketchup with sweet and sour sauce mixed in. I can kinda see why most people get it to go. Take it home and put some good...

Ate at lunch on a Friday passing through on the way to the Ozarks . Service at counter could be better, the man working front seemed like he didn’t really care to serve us , just got the impression we were in the way . It was at lunchtime but wasn’t very busy . Ordered the pork sandwich which he suggested. Driest pulled pork I’ve ever tasted. No flavor whatsoever and bone dry . Son had a 2 meat plate , he liked the sausage ok but he said his beef was too dry also and minimal flavor. For $68 for 2 meals and an extra side definitely wasn’t worth it , Dickeys bbq...
