Catfish Basket — Restaurant in El Paso

OVER.RATED! My co-worker suggested it, so I drove PAST "Tugboat Fish & Chips" for cornmeal catfish with NO seasoning. Portion sizes were good for fish plate (1/2 lb of nuggets, french fries and 7 hushpuppies) but size of $3.95 potato salad was too small (mustard not mayo and tasty). The WORST part was the wait. I walked in (my 1st time, so I didn't know to stand outside) and was, eventually, told my order would be taked outside and that the menu was posted on the windows. When the young lady, FINALLY, came out to take orders, she was uncomfortable asking who was 1st and started to her left. Just so happens that person had JUST walked up. It was a few more minutes before she came out to receive payment. Then, it happened again when the older gentleman came out to take an order. I mentioned that he had skipped a gentleman and he turned, looked at the man and said "Oh, ok". He went back inside! Unimpressive flavor was one thing but 40 mins and half of it was waiting to be serviced, is unacceptable. Friday at a fish place needs to be an organized event. That was POOR management. Nevermind, the older lady who came back because her $20 order had ONE piece of fish in it. The gentleman made her a fresh order but how much time did she waste because of that error? After moving to El Paso from California in November 2021, we discovered this place and thought the food and service was outstanding. The prices were very reasonable as well (i.e. $12.50 for 5 piece Fish Fillet dinner). Now, just 8-short months later (June 2022) same dinner (i.e. $19.43 for 5 piece Fish Fillet dinner). We understand that businesses have legitimate and justifiable reasons to have price increases in order to stay in business. But price increases such as this one, in such a short period of time, seem totally outrageous, and unjustified, as a matter of fact, it seems to border on, arrogance. Needless to say, me and my family will not be eating in this establishment again. One other thing I need to mention is this business still advertises its old prices in the online menu when ordering over the phone, you don't find out about the cross-board price increases until you arrive to pick up and pay...

First off I want to start off by saying I am a regular customer this was actually one of my cravings during my pregnancy. On 10/13/25 my husband ordered the 6 piece family deal (which we have ordered numerous of times) the amount that was given was such a small amount that my family was still hungry. Like cool I get it if you want to skimp on the food for whatever reason I understand but LOWER the price that’s what’s right/fair .
