We decided to give this location a try, even though it was quite a drive for us. My husband ordered the chilaquiles rojos with carne asada, and I chose the creamy green chilaquiles with chicken. We went through the drive-thru and then parked nearby to eat ā it was less than a five-minute drive from the restaurant to where we stopped, as we didnāt feel like socializing after the long drive.
When we opened our to-go boxes, we were a bit disappointed. My meal looked messily assembled: a small portion of chicken on the side, a small sprinkle of cilantro and pickled onions, and a thin line of crema. The chicken was unfortunately very dry and overcooked, the chilaquiles were soggy and lukewarm, and there was no avocado as listed. The sauce didnāt come across as creamy or flavorful. The beans, however, were the highlight ā warm, well-seasoned, and tasty.
My husbandās meal fared slightly better. His chilaquiles were also soggy, but they were warm and came with a decent amount of onions, cilantro, and a generous portion of avocado. That said, the carne asada was overcooked, dry, and chewy.
On a positive note, we were greeted warmly at the drive-thru, thanked for our patience, and apologized to for the wait. Still, considering we spent nearly $40, the quality didnāt feel worth the trip. Sadly, I donāt think weāll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'll update accordingly. First time going was back on 12/5. My mother and I both ordered chilaquiles and cafe de olla. We weren't expecting pre made tostada's with sauce. They were dry within 2 minutes from arriving at our table.I mean, I understand there needs speed and efficiency in the business but c'mon. If you think these chilaquiles are legit, you really need to travel thru south Mexico and experience the true cuisine of this dish. Place is nice but it sounds like a damn night club. Music is super loud and the waitress appear mad, perhaps because they have to put their phones down and excert themselves to give you napkins when I asked for some. Seems more like a place to get an early buzz than somewhere you would take your parents or kids just to relax and eat breakfast. The music was so loud we were having trouble hearing our own conversation. I went again this morning with my brother since he was asking about this restaurant. Gave it another try and same disappointment.Dry chilaquiles. Tostadas tossed in sauce with a nice presentation. Like my brother said "they have good marketing but not good food" The food is just not good. Same loud music though. I thought it was a mom and pop restaurant but it belongs to a restaurant group that identifies clever niches in El Paso. Fool me twice....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time here. Will give my honest opinion n first impression. It is definitely VERY small for how busy it gets. They lost a lot of people the day i went because of how limited seating is. But customer still kept coming. Food: Ordered creamy green & verde chilaquiles- both EXACTLY the same. They were good but little cold. Id also request a bit more salsa next time, they were a bit dry & we prefer the tortilla a bit more soft. It seemed like we were having table chips w/Salsa. The green pozole was very good. They donāt have any options for kids, that was disappointing, so ordered my granddaughters the American breakfast. It was ok but they added red chili flakes to eggs n some of the bacon was burnt, which kids donāt like. And they were aware it was for children, my girls were standing right next to me when service attendant asked how they wanted their eggs. Last but not leastā¦I was a bit skeptical about coffee when she said it was already sweetened w piloncillo but i LUVD it! Best coffee iāve had in along time. Different. Delicious. Will we be back again? Possibly, but not too often as the prices are not too bad but not for my budget. Gave 4 because itās not...
