1st Alarm El Paso — Local services in El Paso

There is always one and I was the one. I searched around and saw good reviews about this company. However, they got my wife and I good this time. I spoke with Gabriel about wanting a system for my house. We communicated through phone or text (mostly text) since I was overseas. I asked if he was able to install some Ring PoE cameras and he said yes. He said would order for me as well. I also asked for some Ring Solar floodlights and a Ring video doorbell. I even sent him a pictures. Anyway, after sending him $1100 to order said items he told me items were in and would be able to install. He then asked about a security system which I thought would be Ring since those are the items I asked for. He showed up and installed one of his security systems that only had a 3 day return policy. He bought wrong floodlights and couldn't install Ring video doorbell. So when he left, he left with our new alarm panel and only installed his alarm system. So no cameras, no floodlights and a doorbell that did not work anymore. (This is a new built house) Again, I thought we were getting a Ring alarm system. Since his alarm system only had a three day return policy we decided to cancel. Not enough time to see if we even like the system. Well his communication became non existent after that. Decided not to finish what he was hired to do. Then wanted me to pay for the wrong floodlights he ordered after I told him which ones. He said he did not even know Ring had solar floodlights. I asked for a full refund since he told me he was not going to finish the doorbell or cameras because "what if I dont like them" I said fine refund me my $1100. He mentioned about having to pay a fee for the wrong floodlights. I said fine, just return my alarm panel and money. He sent someone else to finally pick up his alarm system about two weeks later. This guy put my alarm panel back but now it does not work. So now I have a alarm and doorbell that do not work because of him. Worst part, he charged me 35% to return the floodlights that was his mistake! I received $650 back. Hiw the hell is that even 35%!!! This guy is a joke. Of course he never replied to me after I...

Just moved to El Paso. Used 1st Alarm after shopping around for an alarm system “take over and Nick and Gabe were the most responsive with the most reasonable bid for the job after checking 2 other companies locally. My system components needed batteries in multiple locations and he and Gabe located them all and replaced them at no extra cost. While they were here activating the system I just happened to ask if the thermostats could be connected to the system with z-waves and they added on that service as well at no extra charge. Then in casual conversation, I learned they also do TV mounting with hidden wires! Anything electrical associated with security or entertainment they could do. I was surprised because I thought they were only alarm technicians. Their bid for mounting a 65 and 85” TV with hidden wires was the best out of 3 bids I looked at locally. They did a fantastic job putting the TVs up and neatly creating the new cable/wire sites in the wall. I’m pathologically OCD and I needed the 85” to line up with a line on the floor and they took the 115lb TV off the wall to adjust the bracket and TV 3-4 times just to cater to my absurd need for perfect orientation. If you don’t know (I didn’t) you cannot slide an 85” TV on the bracket for adjustment like smaller TVs, the TV has to come down to move the whole bracket. Will have them back for probably sound and camera system for the house in the future. They should change their name though to like 1st Choice Entertainment and Security, because you wouldn’t know they did all that stuff...

Technician Gabriel is a very professional individual when it comes to getting the job done. He's very prompt and informative with his products, as well as the process that comes with owning an alarm system. When I make an appointment with Gabriel he never fails to show up. He does the job right whether it's just a simple house call or for a more complex system upgrade.
