Corner Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in El Paso

I went during my lunch break, on my way to go inside an older gentleman stopped me asking if I could buy him and his friend something to eat. I went inside with them so they can tell me what they would like, as soon as what I’m assuming is the manger saw them walk in she went straight away to stop them. Clearly I’m with them and asking them what they would like, there is no reason for her to go up to them and seem like they were about to get kicked out. Ordered their food to go as the gentleman’s asked me and ordered mine for dine in. I sat with them in the front waiting to insure their food was going to be handed to them. An employee came up to me after saying the number and asked for my receipt. I have ordered to go orders before from another location and not once was I asked for my receipt and neither were others waiting for their to go orders. Seemed like it was a targeting move. The employee was only holding to go orders and I informed him that if that was my order I was also going to be missing my plate that was for dine in. He proceeded to just go back, couple minutes later or so another employee came with my dine in order. I asked if I could please get the part of the order that was to go as well and for her to hold on to my dine in one for a bit since I wanted to insure the gentleman’s got the food I bought for them. The employee went back and the manager clearly seemed annoyed they were fumbling with the bags and finally brought out my to go part and then I was able to sit down and eat. I understand if the older gentleman’s were causing trouble, but they asked nicely and i offered to buy them something and they were waiting with me. No need for the manager to seem annoyed/irritated. She was rude since the beginning clearly we were standing to the side of the line since I was trying to explain the diff menu options to them no need for her to talk to us so rude and point multiple times telling her employees the order went to me. When I could clearly tell that other orders that were being taken out didn’t have the unnecessary pointing. Do better and fix...

I get this place before cuz all I was doing was having lunch with my pastor and I was having some good news Because he believes that I need to go to Seminary anyways I guess I do know a lot about the Bible I'll have Bible study with anybody anybody anywhere anytime 24/7 anybody loves Jesus I don't give you a Catholic Mormon protested Baptist Pentecostal whatever if you're a Christian I love you anyways back to reading Corner Bakery Cafe I also had it here in like another BLT type of Sandwich which is pretty good I had the tuna some type of tuna salad and a little cup that was okay I drink my normal cup of water of course either water tea or coffee I really don't drink no sodas when I go to restaurants but it was all right the service I didn't like that you like a cafeteria style you got to order as you come in you got to grab your own drinks and throw your own trash on the way out so I don't know what they to want a tip for either way I think we did leave a tip but it's like it's like you got to do everything yourself then I'll refill a drinks or nothing in the glass they gave us for water it was like one sip so we had to get up five different times at least give me a medium or small but anyways the atmosphere was good we got to have a little bible study and we move from a booth to some little Sofas in the Middle with like a little coffee table really comfortable to have a Bible study there is plus I love spending time with...

Update 11/26/19.. this specific location keeps dissapointing us. Its the closest location to my home but I'm gonna have to drive a little bit more to Yarbrough if it means better quality. Today we noticed that the plate that my daughter had was not properly washed. It was dirty on the outside and still had residue of old food on it. Who inspects plates before they use them? This was very disappointing and makes me think if food might be getting contaminated by using dirty/but properly washed plates. We brought the issue up with the manager, I hope she fixes it. ** Update 3/30/19.. Please please please.. do not lower the quality of the food and service! I went in the morning and it was busy but that is no excuse to lower your standards.. My wife and I ordered Anaheim scrambler and our plates were very different when brought.. My plate came with no toast, my plate had significant less portion than usual and less portion than my wife plate(same exact order). Her potatoes were over cooked and so was the egg. My kids had pancakes and the syrup portion brought was just half of that tiny cup they serve. Unacceptable! We usually get full with our food, but this time!..A manager never came to our table to ask if everything was ok (contrary to other times). End of update review**

Always good to eat at The Corner. Love their coffee...
