Crave Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in El Paso

I was excited to go have dinner with my daughters here. They had never been to crave and I had not been to Crave and especially this location in over a year. I normally visit the location at the Fountains. I'll get straight to it, disappointed all around. The food was just not good. Not sure what happened, I went with some of their most popular stuff. The Crave chicken Sandwich, that I must say was okay although the chicken itself was a bit dry so I'm thinking it was over cooked a bit. I asked for the green chile Mac and cheese as my side, awful; all I could taste was the chile and feel it, no flavor at all very bland and it was pretty dry, not cheesy at all. I also love their mushrooms as a side so I splurged a bit being it was my birthday. Ordered as a second side and those were awful as well. I remember those being extremely delicious and flavourful but not this day no flavor at all very bland and for the price I was even more disappointed. I ordered my daughter's the Mac and cheese and the chicken tenders and waffle bites. According to my daughter that ate the Mac and cheese she said it was good and hers actually looked cheesy,I did not try it so I will take her word, my other daughter said hers was "okay daddy" as she put it, the chicken tenders are normally perfectly battered and the chicken is very juicy, but in this case they were definitely overcooked, I wish she would have told me sooner, I would have returned them for some fresh ones. The waggle fries were still delicious but the dipping sauce changed, although still tasty I remember it being different. This one had a sweet cinnamon flavor to it. As for the service, it was a 3out of 5. It was not busy at all. I would have thought our waitress would have been on top of it. No intro and no name tag so i didnt even know her name. After taking our order and bringing the main dishes out she only checked on us once. The sodas barely had ice and even that wasn't great..melted quickly, she got me a refill in the dame cup I was already using and did not bother to put fresh ice in it at least. At the end I had to ask another waitress to call our waitress over so that I could grab the tab from her and get some to go cups for the fruit that my daughters had not eaten. I felt bad but my tip for her reflected how I felt about my visit, not very good. Perhaps I went on an off day or perhaps the cook and staff on hand we're just not on there A game. Generally Crave is delicious and great all around. A couple more comments, I believe this is the oldest location they have and if I am not mistaken the original location and it shows. The place itself looks dirty and not very well taken care of. I went outside to check out the patio and it looks dirty and just old from the furniture to all the leaves on the ground, definitely looks like nobody puts much attention into how it looks and the feel of it, also their bathroom area looks and feels dirty, even my daughter's made a comment that I had to mention On the review that their bathroom was dark and according to them it was dirty. I probably won't be back to this location anytime soon but we'll try another location and hope for a better experience overall I definitely want to take my daughter's back and have them experience...

another update* Went back to have dinner and found a piece of metal shaving on my salad)see picture)... at this point I wish I could give no stars. This place got a 70% on their last city inspection. Thats 1% point from the city closing this place down..

updated review This seems to be a dying business and my first experience did not change a bit. Customer service is still terrible. This time the coffee was served not even lukewarm. It was literally at room temperature and the creamer was brought ice cold,yes it literally had ice on it, which made the coffee even worst. They said as a reason that the device they use to heat up the creamer was not working, therefore they served it straight from the freezer. I asked for a new cup to be brewed and they did and it was better(hotter) but again upon putting the creamer the coffee would just go to waste temp wise. Not enough sugar on table, no salt and pepper, no hot sauce at the table and everything had to be requested which was inconvenient due to the lack and slowness of service that morning. All I wanted was a good hot cup of coffee. The time I went was about 745am and there was only 1 other customer. We could hear the staff being very loud and joking around...Person on bar was being loud with the person in kitchen.. they were having aome kind of loud conversation that its not really the customer business to hear. I had to step out of my table to go find the waitress cause it seems they forgot about giving us service.. I could hear them loud and clear as they were in the kitchen joking around.

I will never come to this location again. Usually the West Side and Farrah Fountain location are much better than this place.

Original reviewDisappointing when you go and sit down for breakfast and the first thing the server tells you is "we apologize but we dont have any coffee this morning". Really??? We left the place immediately and went across the street to Corner Bakery where they actually have coffee...

We arrived to the restaurant, I had my daughter get off to tell them we needed a table for four and I parked the car. As I walked in another group of people came in that arrived after us and another couple as well arrived after us, they proceeded to seat these people prior to us and a gentleman came and asked if we had been helped and I advised him that we had already let them know we needed a table for four and they seated other prior to us and I was upset. The girl my daughter spoke to came back and I stated we arrived prior to those other people and they were seated before us and she proceeded to give me an attitude and said “I know!” And rolled her eyes she was wearing a red shirt. They proceeded to seat us outside in the sun and now we all have sun burns cause this little girl decided to be a rude and vengeful person cause we had the nerve to ask why others were seated before us! I will never return to this place ever again. Our actual server who was a young man who’s name is Miguel was absolutely wonderful but as far as the rest of the staff, don’t get into customer service if you don’t know how to deal with customers properly! We had every right to know why we were being seated last even tho we arrived prior to those people and furthermore I believe she sat us in the sun just to be a bi@$! Cause I got asked what the f was going on w their seating order, all she had to do is advise us of what was going on instead of just leaving us there and watching them seat others prior to us! It’s just common courtesy and proper customer service! We will never return to this place again! And the good morning mimosa was absolutely terrible! Didn’t taste like it usually does. Completely unacceptable behavior on that girl in the red shirt! She needs to be taught proper customer service instead of giving me attitude and rolling her eyes at me!...
