Corner Bakery Cafe — Restaurant in El Paso

I had the worst service. I would post everything thing my family & I found wrong with this location, but then I would make the owners job too easy.

The owner is unprofessional and dresses like a security guard versus professional clothing attire. She was wearing a red polo shirt, blue cargo pants with A CK belt. At the very least, please invest in a tactical belt. Please hire a security guard and focus on managing and ownership of the business.

This person identified as a owner over the phone when we called and complained. She was standing around at the entrance and whispering to her manager behind the glass barrier every so often, she had no Corner Bakery ID badge or uniform which is unprofessional. The point is she made us feel uneasy and weird during our visit. I noticed her first, then my wife, and last of all my son.

Furthermore, she is hovering over the entryway like a fly, facing the dining area with her arms crossed or her fingers interlocking, her back is facing the customers that are walking into the restaurant preventing her from greeting her customers.

The food at this place is great, the dish I had was flavorful and fresh. The menu offers a fair variety, and the portions are sizes correctly without being large. You can tell the kitchen staff really knows what they're doing.

That said, the overall brunching experience was in some way impacted by a tall male Mgr. presence or perhaps he could be the owner of the place. While it’s understandable to want to ensure everything is running smoothly, the constant hovering around our area felt a bit intrusive. It made it hard to fully relax and enjoy the meal, as we felt like we were being watched the entire time. A little more space would go a long way in making customers feel comfortable.

Hopefully with a bit more trust in the service staff and customers, the experience could go from great to exceptional, I do hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the food alone is worth a visit and with a bit more space given to diners, this spot could...

I decided to try corner bakery at this location and had a bad experience. My pancakes were very undercooked regarding food experience, however they have these girls walking around like robots with a black tray to pick up plates from tables but they are literally in your face right after they see you are finishing with your plate. My husband was not even finish eating and they wanted to take his plate away. We had cinnamon shaker in our table for the oatmeal and they took it away from us just to put it back in the table where they have the shakers!! We thought someone else needed the cinnamon but no, they just wanted it to put it back. I brought this up to a lady that was working there and she said I’m sorry but that’s where the cinnamon goes!!
