Denny's — Restaurant in El Paso

We very regularly eat at this Denny’s, and the service seems to get worse and worse every time we come.

We showed up on this Saturday morning and waited several minutes before even being acknowledged. You could tell the hostess was new and extremely overwhelmed. (No fault there. She was very sweet!) When we were being walked to our seat, one of the waitresses came over and yelled at the hostess, “Not in MY Section.” She then took the hostess over and pointed out which booths were the other waiter’s section. It was not in a helpful tone. It was extremely rude and mean the way she spoke to the poor hostess, and we were already feeling bad for her. The hostess was the absolute sweetest and offered to clean off a high chair for us, even though we could see she was clearly busy and overwhelmed. We told her we had our own wipes and thanked her.

Our waiter came over quickly, but you could also tell he was new. When my husband asked if we could substitute the toast on the Lumberjack Slam for hash browns (which we were able to the week before at this same location), the waiter said he didn’t think they were able to do it. My husband let him know that they did it before and asked “Do you mind checking for us?” It’s very important to note that my husband asked politely. There was nothing rude about the way he asked. The server was clearly new, so we wanted to verify before we got stuck with toast we wouldn’t eat.

While we were waiting for him to return, the rude waitress from earlier spilled coffee on someone at another table. She grabbed a napkin and was cleaning the table and she said to the customer “It didn’t get on you right?” And the customer replied, “Yeah actually, it burned my whole belly and my legs.”

I’m not sure what happened next because the manager walked up to us and said, “Hey, so I heard someone out here wants to sub some hash browns.” Before we could say anything, she very rudely started going off about how she can’t sub a potato for a bread because it would throw off her inventory. All we needed was a simple “We can’t do that.” Her tone was extremely condescending and rude as she was explaining. My issues isn’t with the fact that they couldn’t substitute the toast. My issue is 100% with the attitude of the manager and the other waitress. The manager’s tone totally changed when she recognized our baby in the high chair and she grabbed his toes and said “I remember you!” If she had used half of that energy to be polite the first time, we wouldn’t have gathered our stuff and left.

All this to say, we went to Buttersmith’s instead and have had the...

I will say we will not eat here again.

Thanksgiving dinner yesterday we ate here and had to send food back 3 times and didn’t come back correct and my husband didn’t eat. The eggs was runny not cooked all the way and the hash browns was not cooked all the way.

When someone asked for crispy inside out that doesn’t mean make little brown out side means crispy inside out. Sent 3 times back and they both came back that same bit the 3 time the eggs was even more runny.

The manager was not professional how he responded! You was not busy busy with people. But the manager made excuse for the cook saying we have so many to go door dash orders and it’s busy with that. Unmmm excuse me we was there to eat and got crappy food while your using this door dash thing as an excuse for a plate going back 3 times and never got fixed !!!!! Stop doing door dash if you can’t take care of the people who comes in person to eat!!! You can’t handle it stop participating in door dash services !!!!!!!!! He should have said I am sorry I will look into seeing why this is happening not using door dash and go back and make a big deal out of this mistake cause it was 3 times and couldn’t get it right.

We left there without my husband eating after that. He lost his appetite even!! I ask for onion rings with my order I get fries I didn’t correct it but told the nice waiter to switch it on the ticket to fries, we already waited 50 mins to get food then for wrong item to change it and watching my husband deal with not getting his food given to him right just so so sad!!!!!!!! I use to be a restaurant manager and I am telling you some people would had been fired for this from that manager leader whatever you people call him to that cook!!!!!!!!!!!!! The waiter was excellent I made sure to express to him it is not his fault that he did his part with excellentance.

We arrived Saturday morning, maybe 10:30 am. The parking lot here has plenty of parking, we waited maybe 3 to 5 minutes to be added to a short list off waiting customers, once seated we ordered coffee, (note: it's become custom practice for restaurants to only give their customers a mug of coffee, instead of the pitcher your paying for), this is something I always note, the food we ordered was not up to par, 1st my scrambled eggs were browned, I understand that many eat eggs this way, that's because your burning them as well, eggs are to be fluffy and yellow. These eggs were the remnants of a premature omelet, clearly the eggs were left and overcooked, the bacon was undercooked, if you understand fresh bacon then you will (note: that when bacon is fully cooked the meat is golden brown and vibrant, bacon that sits out to long or that is old turns dark red almost black when cooked, this was the case, despite theses 2 hiccups, the French toast were exquisite, I did ask for a 2nd plate off eggs, I will provide the images, they were given to me 15 minutes after I asked, and were still browned, and, or burned, I did not eat these eggs as well, we only spoke to our waiter 1 time, he did not help us with anything else after we ordered, the Manager put the 2nd egg order in as well , we tipped, and paid and ended our breakfast, this is my 2nd time at this location, the 1st was amazing, but cooking bad food is not ok, serving flavorless meat isn't ok, cooking eggs correctly, by not turing them into browned omelets is not out the spectrum off a kitchen, "I say", take a chance when if you dare, but that 2nd plate off eggs were just as bad as the 1st, this place isn't making the food with any form...
