Nice little hole in the wall type of restaurant in beautiful West side El Paso. The decor is creative and I liked the retro Mexican theme. Only one person at a time in the restrooms as there's only one toilet for women and one for men. Ordered quesa birria tacos, they had great flavor but they were too oily. Even the consome (broth) was too oily to drink or submerge, your order of birria tacos comes with 1 tiny cup of broth. Couldn't even drink it straight from the cup because it was too oily, the taste was good though. The tortilla was on the toasty side so the tacos were more crunchy than soft. The salsas are already provided on the tables in squeeze bottles. The green salsa was delicious, the orange one was good, and the red one wasn't that good. The chile flakes were too chunky and they were hard to squeeze out of the bottle. No tostadas or bean dip was provided like other competition taco places. No utensils provided, we had to ask for forks. Only 3 small tacos per order, on the pricey side at $12, but you can buy more tacos individually for an additional price. It does come with a few delicious Chiles and cebollitas toreadas but nothing else on the plate. I liked the Mexican sodas in glass bottles; they also had 2 types of aguas frescas, frutas and cucumber- lime with chia seeds. Limited seating, you might have to wait for a table or take it to go. We were around 6:30pm and the carrier was already telling us and everyone else "let me check if we have enough for that", so they were running out of certain menu items. The staff were oblivious to clients coming in or out so I can't say you get a welcoming feeling. The cashier looked like she had a hard day and looked confused. I doubt I will be back, nevertheless you might want to give it a try and see how...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to visit El Beso Taqueria based on our Instagram feed of restaurant recommendations in El Paso. The location is somewhat hidden in a shopping mall but we were able to find it with Google Maps. As we entered it was smaller than we expected, IG tends to make things look bigger than they are. The atmosphere was easy and simple. The temperature inside the location was a bit hot to say the least. My wife wanted to use the restroom to wash her hands but we noticed a sign on the wall that states there was charge to use the restroom, huh??? Who still does that? When we approached the register to order our food, the person at the register looked upset or as if he didn't want to work that day, not sure, but he wasn't very inviting, didn't smile or even say hello. We were looking for birria tacos because we really love the taste of them and have been to other birria taco locations, specifically Birria Culiacan. The menu is pretty simple, but we stuck with the birria tacos, the order was 2 orders of 3 birria tacos each and 2 drinks, which came out to a total of $38 and change. We felt that is was a bit expensive, since we have been to other taco locations and the order usually comes with 4 tacos not 3, and is usually around $25-30 total. The order took about 45 minutes, my wife and I were ready to ask for our money back and walk out. When we finally got our tacos, they were extremely small. The taste was good, but compared to other locations, we felt that for the wait and price, we should have been blow away. I literally finished my tacos within 5 minutes. It took us more time to get to the location, wait for our tacos and to get just get 3 small tacos was very disappointing. We will not be returning to El...
Read moreWas excited to try this place that everyone was rating 5 stars but was disappointed with the wait time and the service. I ordered 9 individual tacos, which were made quick, and a birria picza which took over 30 minutes. After awhile of seeing others getting their food before me I asked an employee how long more it was going to take and expressed to him that I was waiting over 30 minutes. He then started looking for my food and packed the 9 tacos that were just waiting on the counter for the past 15 or more minutes and finally gave me the last food item that was missing, the birria pizza. My wife opened the individual taco trays and stated that the tacos werenât even warm. We donât like to be Karens and so we decided to just warm them up at home, which we did. The tacos were all good and the salsas were amazing. Just a bad experience with the wait time and the service. The cashier was super busy taking orders, giving the beverages, and packing the items, which I feel like someone else should help her with the packing, as she had like 3-4 orders just sitting at the counter waiting for someone to pack them in a bag. I feel like the people in the back could of helped her at least pack the items as they were just standing there waiting for more orders. I just think the place would work best if they had everyone working as a team instead of individual stations. Overall the food the is great but the service needs a little more work. I saw a sign that said âMade In Chingaâ which I believe was true for the individual tacos but not when taking the order and packing everything. I would give this place a 4 star just for the poor service. Also the Birria pizza was salty...
