I read the reviews, and went in hopeful for a great pre-Valentines Day meal. I have thought long and hard about how to write this review, I have rarely given a bad review because I know how much it could hurt the business.
Let's talk Atmosphere 1st. It was generally loud, we weren't expecting it to be so loud, the background music was loud (and kind of droning 90s sound) enough that everyone had to raise their voice over the music, adding to the overal volume. Not a nice romantic dinner for 2.
The open kitchen would be great except something smoked up the whole restaraunt enough that they turned the AC on to clear it out (and make it rather cold inside this cool February night). Top this off with the management allowing a man to solicit each table with flowers for sale. For a $200 meal I would not have expected any of these concerns, let alone all of them. 😞
Service was alright. Our waters had 1 refill in the 2.5hr experience. I definitely rate service by how often I have an empty glass. Nobody came by while food was still on the table to hear what I will write below about food. It was what I would expect and have no complaints from at Denny's.
I have eaten at high quality restaurants all around the country, and I had an expectation for a French cuisine service and a level of attentiveness for a $40+ tip, I was grossly disappointed.
Now to the food. There was no French bread, or any finger food to help with the wait. We ordered the Terre & Mar (Steak, Lobster, Prawns, and Scallops) plus dessert. The flavor profile was good, but after waiting nearly an hour the food came out generally lukewarm to cold. Talk about disappointing.
The first bite was totally deflating after such a long wait. The steak was a perfect pink, and would probably have been melt in your mouth good if served warm. The prawns and scallops were not overcooked (a common plague in El Paso), and again if served warm would have been worthy of praise. The Lobster was rubbery, probably from sitting in the sauce too long. If someone was available to help, and I could reasonably expect to eat before midnight, I would have sent it back.
Honestly, I could go on, but I want to give the benefit of the doubt, the room was full, probably more than the staff could handle. Most dishes were smaller and moved quickly (most tables which were sat after us, had food before us). We have had amazing French dining experiences across the US and ordered the meal we did, thinking it would be similar. This expectation may have driven some of my angst with the evening. I hope your...
Read moreOn April 15 20203 at 7:30pm I dined at a Entrecote &Co in El Paso TX., and I must say I was thoroughly disappointed with the customer service. Despite the restaurant's reputation, the server's response time was incredibly slow, and their attitude was unacceptable.
From the moment we were seated, it took an excessive amount of time for the server to acknowledge our presence. We waited at least 25 minutes before the server even came to our table to take our order. Once they finally arrived, the server didn't apologize for the wait or provide any explanation for the delay he only asked how the checks were to be split. The waiter ignored our request, discarded food designated for to-go boxing. left items on the receipt that were supposed to be taken off.
Throughout the meal, we constantly had to wait for the server to attend to our needs. Every time we needed a refill or had a question, we had to flag them down, which took a considerable amount of effort. The server seemed disinterested in serving us and had an overall apathetic attitude.
When we finally asked to speak with the manager about the poor service, the server's response was dismissive. They seemed annoyed that we had even brought up the issue, and didn't offer any solution to improve our dining experience only a discount to our meal. We were not interested in receiving discount our time is more valuable than money. It was clear that they didn't care about our satisfaction or the restaurant's reputation.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the customer service at this high-end restaurant. The server's response time was unacceptable, and their attitude made our dining experience far from enjoyable. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. If I could give 0...
Read moreA True Hidden Delicacy! This restaurant is an excellent choice for lunch, dinner, happy hour, weekends or a special occasion. They seat both small and large parties, but they can get busy so it’s always good to call ahead if you have a large party.
I’ve been coming here for awhile and the food is nothing short of spectacular! Literally everything is delicious, drinks are fantastic, the staff is very friendly and on top of their game. But the food is definitely their specialty, and it keeps me coming back for more. I also love that the restaurant is very clean, and they take a lot of pride in keeping it that way.
For those that want to have a drink(s) they have an excellent wine list, plenty of different beers, a few draft beers, as well as a ton of mixed drinks & cocktails. They also have excellent bartenders and believe me they can get the drinks out fast all while maintaining quality and taste.
The restaurant boasts a roof covered patio with fans, a fully stocked bar, as well as dinning inside where it’s nice and cool. To top it off they recently had a live saxophone night and the musician played for over 3 hours. Be sure to check out their Facebook and Instagram pages for live music updates. Aside from all that it’s a great place for lunch or to have an amazing dinner. Oh and they also have a private dining room for those who are interested.
My favorite foods here have been the wild caught chilean Seabass, Escargot, Lamb, oyster Rockefeller, their steaks, lobster, sliders, steak tacos, and shrimp cocktails just to name a few. Definitely check out their menu and happy hour specials because they have so much more. Entrecôte is by far one of my most favorite restaurants in El Paso, a definite must try, and you won’t be...
