Flautas y Paleteria Tepalca — Restaurant in El Paso

I really wanted nachos, and I wanted the chips to be authentic, like deep fried in the restaurant, not bought from a store and out of a bag. My friend took me here and the chips were exactly what I wanted. I ordered two flautas and they were fried perfectly. Very crispy. The sour cream which is real Mexican crema and the crumbled white cheese was authentic. It came with a very small salad. We also ordered nachos. They used melted processed cheese instead of shredded cheese. There were some refried beans on it and shredded beef, pickled jalapenos and tomatoes and onions. Also comes with a small green and red salsa.

I also ordered a lime agua fresca and my friend ordered a cantaloupe agua fresca. It was all freshly squeezed. Very very good. I highly recommend the agua fresca, they go out of their way to actually juice the fruit, it's not powdered.

I saw other people ordering pork rinds and putting hot sauce on it. They also had corn that was dipped in the crema and cheese. It looked very authentic. I may try that next time. They also have ice cream and the Mexican fruit popsicles that looked really really good. It looks so refreshing. I know that will be good for sure and if I ever have a craving for that, I will come here.

The restaurant was very clean and updated tables. They had a basin to wash your hands in before you get to the bathrooms in case you just want to wash your hands and not use the facilities. I thought that was clever. The staff was very friendly. They brought the food to our table and the server was smiling and making sure we had everything we needed.

Im not usually one to leave bad reviews but I have had it with the complete inability of this restaurant to provide me with a single correct order. Today I called in a pickup order and when I arrived to pick it up, as usual they did not have my order ready in the estimation they gave me, I waited around while they finished and even longer for my drink which I was told they forgot about (again) when I get home and sit down to eat I see that neither one of the 2 orders had any cheese on them. I dont mean that they had so little it might as well not have any, I mean it literally had no cheese. When I called to complain, I was told that if I came all the way, that they would replace them or if I brought the food back I could have my money back. When I was transfered to the manager I was told that if she were me and I had really gotten my order wrong so many times, that maybe she would check her order a little better before leaving the restaurant. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, she had basically blamed me for their incompetence and continued to tell me that they would do nothing to repay the time, inconvenience, and money that I had lost thanks to them. She was completely unprofessional she was rude and I have no idea how someone like that can get to be manager of a restaurant. I will not be going back, and I will no longer continue to give them my money in exchange for an incorrect order and less than acceptable...

Went to pick up my order which I had already paid for over the phone. She told me it would be ready in 30 mins. When i arrived i Waited another 20 minutes after I told the girl that my order was ready and to please check she said she couldn't check. When I asked another Lady, she told me she should have checked to see if the order was ready. The one I spoke to first had super heavy make up on top of her acne covered face. She was extremely rude, claimed to be the manager and kept interrupting me while I tried explaining the situation. My food was cold when I got home and was missing an order of tacos. And to top it off I found a hair in my flautas. She claimed she'd return my money but didn't bother to ask for my name. By far the worst service EVER! She needs to be fired, no professionalism what so EVER!

Update: So, I received a call from Mr. Alex the person in charge and he asked to hear my side of the story. He was very courteous and apologetic. I appreciate his quick response to my unpleasant experience. After explaining to him the situation, we were able to resolve the issue. I just want to say thank you for reaching out and showing concern for your customers. Just to be clear the food here is good. And also, not all the employees are like this.
