I used to really love this place. The fact they had a vegan option on the menu was great for me since I eat strictly plant-based. I have noticed a significant decline in service and in quality of food. I have also noticed that any time there are young adults working, they run out things and they don’t do anything to satisfy the customer. Let me give an example: came in on a Sunday and ordered fajitas. Asked for flour tortillas and was told that they had run out. This was earlier in the day and in my opinion no excuse. Why can’t someone run to the store (which is less than 5 minutes away from the restaurant) and buy tortillas? Again, came in on a Saturday and asked for sweet tea. I was told they did not have any made. This also was earlier in the day which makes this twice that the people in the kitchen are just being lazy and refusing to make more. Cooks often do a sloppy job and serve undercooked food or do not know how to follow special directions. Which brings us to today. asked for sweet tea and was told they didn’t have any. I also asked for the Vegan meatless fajitas from the menu like I normally do and requested no cheese. I was served a plate which included cheese. My server took the plate and when she brought it back they had just scraped off the beans and replated the food. Upon inspection I saw that my fajitas had cheese on the underside of the tortillas which verified that the cooks did indeed just scrape and replate. I have given this restaurant many chances and can not justify coming back any longer. The quality and lack of consistency is too much, too often. I hope the manager reads this and implements changes asap as I don’t see this helping...
Read moreFirst time coming here, but my expectations were a little high. Walking in the hostess seemed to be mute until I asked for a table for 1. Didn't get an appetizer even though the options seemed tempting. I was craving tacos but ordered the flautas instead. Got the chips and salsa while waiting. Taco chips were homemade and delicious. The salsa was also very good although a little too spicy for my taste. My food arrived and looked amazing. 4 good sized beef flautas, rice, beans and a little lettuce complemented the Mexican staple. Biting into the flautas they seemed a little dry. As I kept eating it was a little harsh. The flautas tasted old and definitely dry, I had ordered the strawberry lemonade, which is delicious btw, and had to keep drinking so the flautas wouldn't get stuck on my esophagus. The beans were ok, and so was the rice. Wouldn't recommend the flautas. I love sopaipillas but rarely get a chance to eat them. I ordered 4, 2 for there and 2 to go. They were on the small side and looked somewhat burned, not visually appetizing, but who cares right, if they're good. Well they weren't, they tasted rancid and old. I tried not getting charged for the 2 sopaipillas I got to go since they were packaged and I hadn't touched them. I was told I couldn't do that. I ended up paying for them but didn't take them. They were unedible in my opinion. Expected too much but don't think I'll return. The experience left a literal bitter taste in my mouth. P.s. to end the experience, as I walked out people were smoking right by the door. I hate cigarette smoke, yuck, disgusting, so this...
Read moreIncredible experience at Riviera. My wife and 2 daughters took me here to eat breakfast on Father's Day. We arrived shortly after opening and there were only about 4 or 5 other parties dining at that point. Service was very quick and super friendly. The menu offered a great variety of selections and the food was incredible. What made this experience exceptional was about halfway through our meal an extremely nice gentleman tapped me on the shoulder on his way out and told me I had a beautiful family and to have a Happy Father's Day. I was taken aback that a stranger would be so nice to me for no reason. I thanked him and returned the Happy Father's Day (I hope he was a father!). We went about finishing our meal and talked about how that experience made our day. We then asked for our check and the super-friendly waitress informed us our bill had been taken care of!!! She said "a stranger" wanted to wish me a Happy Father's Day! I couldn't believe this! I've heard these types of stories, but had never experienced it myself. Of course we decided to pay it forward! There was a gentleman dining alone behind us (if he is a father, it would make me feel even better!), so we paid for his meal and left a big tip for the waitress. On our way out we heard the waitress telling this gentleman his meal had been taken care of. I'm pretty sure I overheard them discussing him paying it forward also. Who knows how far this went!! Best dining experience...
