Rude, snotty, idle staff, and mopping around. Just a few of the words to describe the experience me and my whole family had. I personally love the grove locations including the Westside and East side location. This one, however, absolutely should be closed down to not tarnish the other locations. Or simply hire staff that actually wants to have a job and be there for their customers and provide a service in which they were hired for.
I came here on June 11th 2024 , after the graduation ceremony for Andres High School. Thinking this would be a great place to take my family I was excited to call and reserve our table 1 hour before arrival.
Once arrived I was left standing there looking confused and being ignored by all servers/hosts at the check in stand/table. No one was in front of me. They simply decided to ignore me and my party and continue to talk amongst themselves. I had to speak up to finally be greeted only to be met with rudeness and a point to my suspected table. We sit.
I observe my “server” pay us no mind to the party that walked in, and continue to chatter with fellow servers.
A party walks in after us and they are greeted, seated , given waters, and placed an order. ALL BEFORE WE EVEN GET WATERS FOR OUR TABLE!! Once the waters come we should have placed our drink and food order as well because she would not come to help us for another 10-15 min. After a total of an excruciating 45 min of eating our meal here we were so excited to leave. Only to be met with a “mandatory” 20% gratuity!!! For what?!?!?! If you sign up for a job as a server you are obligated to proved the upmost service for your guests and it’s up to us if you either met standards or AT LEAST TRIED. Server knew she would get 20% off each separate check so it was not needed to give great service.
It’s honestly sad.
Hire new staff or new SOP’s new to be in place cause my experience for the staff at this location deserves -5...
Read moreNot really family friendly. I understand that not all places are for kids, but the hostess looked visibly frustrated or annoyed when I came in with just me and my 1 year old. I asked to be seated outside, as it’s usually less of a bother to have a kid on the patio, but was refused because they only had 4 tops. That’s fine, indoors is no problem. I was then seated in the back next to the kitchen. When I asked for a booster seat and proceeded to pull my kid’s seat next to me so I would be able to access my child and help him with eating, she complained that we would be in the way of staff moving in and out of the kitchen. I told her that I’m okay with sitting somewhere more practical, but my kid is too little to feed himself in a restaurant. I am quite pregnant, so constant reaching across the table to keep him from flinging food everywhere is not really possible or practical. She then just handed me the booster seat and said that she wouldn’t strap it to to chair for me. So I proceeded to struggle pregnant, with a one year old on my hip to do it myself while wait staff watched. It’s fine, I guess, but I don’t think helping a guest be properly and safely seated is beyond the realm of a hosts duties.
Honestly, I felt so embarrassed and unwelcome at that point that I just wanted to leave, but I don’t really go out a lot and so I stayed.
The waitress was pleasant and attentive. The food was fine. The kids Mac n cheese is pretty elevated and my kid ate a decent portion. I thought the house potatoes were really good. The Buddha bowl was fine. It’s an okay healthy option, but I feel like there wasn’t a lot of thought put into the different flavors or textures of the ingredients or how they work together. It definitely relies heavily on the dressing for flavor.
This location is fairly new and probably still figuring out a few things, however, as of now, I don’t plan inconveniencing the staff by...
Read moreWent for late Mother's Day brunch. Staff was so nice, kind & attentive. Place is clean trendy, but small & not enough parking for the amount of restaurants, so for an occasion like Mother's Day was a pain. Menu is jam packed with options and no pictures so a tad overwhelming.
We started with a Blueberry Mint Lavender Refresher, Cucumber Refresher & Green Fried Tomatoes. Mom loved the her drink, the Lavender Refresher fell a bit short of amazing, but great as a summer afternoon option. Never had green Fried Tomatoes and honestly they were Soo Good. The lemon squeeze & dip was delicious. Flavorful, wanted more & very confident appetizer. Mom would have ordered 2 & taken as a meal. I got the French Toast Sandwich with chicken sausage instead of bacon. It was flavorful and really good. Would order again, but the potatoes were more of a dinner option than a brunch type potato side. They didn't stand out though, but was good and cooked fully, but could use ketchup. Had leftovers & happy it would save well. I also order a a pistachio iced coffee. Syrup was not sweet or flavored. So, it just tasted like ice coffee. All drinks were small. Mom got the Chilaqilles and they had a modern twist, so it was definitely a nachos style dish. Was large portion and definitely awesome for brunch. But, Mom expecting a more traditional plate, so she was slightly overwhelmed. Couldn't take home, because it woulded save well. Ordered to go a Acai Bowl and was huge bowl great for breakfast tomorrow! Everything was packed separately so totally perfect. Last was Kahlbi Steak to go. It was cut into nice bite sized pieces laid on top of a rice side. The plate was smaller than expected. But, smelled amazing. Overall Tab was $96. Each dish ranged from $12-18 & drinks $7 ea. Included: 3 10oz drinks 1 appetizer 4 entree's I found it a little high, but for a occasion like Mother's Day I'd say price wise was...
