Update: I called and left a message for a call back. I’ve yet to hear back. The business voicemail is also not set up. Our experience at Manhattan Grill was extremely disappointing. From start to finish, the service and overall dining experience were far below expectations. It began with a long wait for our server to take our orders. My parents were excited to try the Sunday Special, only to be told at the time of ordering that the Prime Rib wasn’t available. It would have been helpful to know this earlier, so we weren’t scrambling to choose alternative entrees, especially given how long the process already took. From the time we were seated to the moment our entrees arrived, an hour and 45 minutes had passed. Even then, we didn’t receive everything we requested. Two of the four steaks and baked potatoes were lukewarm, and one was completely cold. While the cold steak was remade, it arrived long after everyone else had finished eating. We also requested additional “bottomless salad,” which never came, and one of our baked potatoes wasn’t brought out until we were finished with our meal. While the restaurant did comp these missing items, it didn’t make up for the frustration and disruption to our dinner. When the manager made rounds to check on guests, we shared our concerns and were told he’d follow up with the kitchen. Later, our server said he’d ask the manager to return, but that never happened. This lack of follow-through only added to the disappointment. While our server was friendly, they seemed inexperienced. They struggled with wine recommendations and initially told us the Decoy Cabernet we ordered wasn’t available, which turned out to be incorrect. Additionally, they added a 20% gratuity to the total tab for a “large party”, though I do not recall seeing anything about gratuity being automatically added. We had a table of six and had planned to tip at least 20% in cash. The entire experience lasted 2 hours and 45 minutes—far too long for such a poorly executed, overpriced meal. Overall, this was a frustrating and lackluster dining experience, and we left feeling incredibly let down.

I have been going to Thirty Five Tavern for a few years now. And I decided to come here since I was in the area. The service was great and for the most part so was the food. I had the oysters which were large and fresh, the fried shrimp which was the special for the day, the peel and eat shrimp which seemed a little small and I debated if it was actually 1/2 a pound. My only complaint would be the mussels. These were my favorite but after having them a couple of times recently I will no longer be ordering. The broth used to actually taste like tomato and be a beautiful red color. You have the option of adding chorizo which we regularly do. Before you could also see and taste the chorizo. NOW it’s non existent, even after ordering extra chorizo which I was charged $3.00 for it was non existent. I thought the first few times it was just that day but they have consistently been disappointing. The broth is flavorless, doesn’t taste like tomato or chorizo and is very pale. I asked the server to ask if they had changed the recipe or the chorizo and she came back and said they didn’t. But it’s not the same, so either they are not making it the same or they are getting extremely low quality chorizo with zero taste. Either way I won’t be wasting my money on this dish, which is a shame because it was my favorite dish here… I have posted pictures of it before and now to show the difference in color and consistency.

If I could give a zero review, I would I went to Manhattan Heights on Sunday, March 9 around 6:52pm I ordered some oysters I ate about four of them on March 10 Monday, I went to work and I started feeling sick. I started with stomach cramps soon after that my symptoms got worst and I (repeat I did not eat anything Monday day the last thing I ate was manhattan heights oysters), Monday night, I started vomiting, had non stop Diarrhea, chills, fever, muscle cramps, muscle tightness, felt weak, my My eyes and face were pale yellow. This went on for Monday night and Tuesday and Wednesday I had to go to the doctor and get checked in the emergency room had IV drip and antibiotics, turns out that I consumed a bacteria that was in the oyster and the only way that you can contract that bacteria is if it’s not cooked right or if it’s not cleaned properly, Now I’m not sure what the process is of them preparing and cleaning their seafood in particular oysters, but this will be the last time that I will visit this establishment and will never return. Here are some picture and tab of proof I was there. Please be careful when eating sea food there.

Arrived with a party of 5 for a birthday dinner, called since Wednesday to make our reservation. Upon arrival the hostess “couldn’t find our reservation” after about 5 minutes of her “looking for it” she was finally able to find it and had a server walk us to a booth! We explained to the server that we were a party of 5 and the booths are usually meant to sit 4 people only. The server went to confirm with the hostess and came back saying the hostess had assigned us to the booth. After asking to speak with a manager, the hostess herself came, was extremely rude the whole time while trying to explain that all the other tables were already reserved and there was nothing she could do for us. We decided to stick it thru and uncomfortably squeezed the party of 5 into a booth that is only meant to sit 4. I ordered the 12 oz ribeye, apparently they believe it should only come with lettuce and no other side for $28.99. The meat was chewy, 45% of it was fat. I asked for it to be well done, still had pink in the middle…. In total I paid about $55 for some lettuce, a horrible piece of meat and a potato, I had to order on the side which was served on a cheap looking buffet/diner style plate and 3 modelo keg beers. The whole time we were eating we were watching the empty tables that were supposedly “reserved” which were about 5 in total. Our reservation was at 6pm, we started heading out at about 7:30pm. There was still 2 empty tables when we left…. It almost feels as if the hostess, feels the need to mistreat the people she doesn’t deem worthy of eating at this establishment, so that they decide to turn around and go elsewhere. I say this because of our experience and because I noticed when we were leaving, there was a Mexican couple speaking to the same hostess, who is blonde haired and fair skinned. My party and I, walked outside and stood by the fire pit they have outdoor by the entrance, While we stood there talking for a bit.. the gentleman from the couple walked out, got on his phone to call who I’m guessing was another member of his party to ask them and confirm that they had made the reservation… 🤔🤨 Overall, I do not recommend this place simply due to the hostesses’ demeanor and the quality of food for the price you pay. The management also seems to be lacking when it comes to the small details that it takes to make a place like this a great experience for ALL! A lot of the guests were even dressed better than the person we were told was the manager. he also seemed to be only paying attention to one particular table, instead of going around and introducing himself to the other guests and asking how they’re doing, like the managers at other establishments usually do. Pretty sure they have their regulars but be wary if you’re a first timer. Based on some of the other comments, it seems to be hit or miss with this place. My personal opinion, you’re better off spending your money at a place like West Texas Chophouse or Weso Steakhouse. 👍🏻

  • UPDATE * We called to speak directly with the manager in order to raise our concerns and notify him of our experience, the hostesses choice of words & demeanor.. His response: “I’ll take it into consideration.” Followed by a meaningless...

Saturday night! Beware!

Family of 4 arrived at the restaurant at about 6:40 and was told it would be about 20-30 min, ended up being 30-40. It was very busy. Not an issue. We sat down about 7:15. We did not order any apps. All of our entrees came with a salad or soup, which all 4 guests had. We also ordered bread service which took multiple times to remind our waiter. The bread took 40 mins to get to the table. Soup/salad came relatively fast (before the bread came). We didn’t receive our food until 9:15. We were told people called in sick and that was the reason of the long wait for the food. This was not an anomaly, there were several tables in the near by area that sat down in same area and were there just as long as we were (from start to finish). We had our wine taken off the menu (waiter’s choice to do so). Overall food was tasty, steamed vegetables were undercooked and seasoned and raw. Steaks were cooked near optimal temperature and rice was a tasty side.

Jesus our waiter tried his best to make up for this situation and apologized multiple times (as most of this was out of his hands).

Overall service was good, but the entire dinner took entirely too long. Maybe this was just 1 night, but from the looks of it, most tables/parties that were there took a long time to eat and get out.

If we go back, maybe we make a reservation (although that wouldn’t have made much difference tonight) and maybe go back...
