I am saddened to write this review as up until recently this has been a place I have enjoyed ordering food from. Today I placed an order on DoorDash for pickup for lunch. I had to take my order back and get a refund due to their being what looked like weevil larvae or some little worm on the radishes that came in my pozole. I ordered the Pozol + Co.e with the Chicken Durango and put the radishes that it comes with into the soup. I was about to take a bite when I noticed the worm on the radishes. I took my food back to the store to talk to the manager who then tried to tell me that it was oregano. It is very clearly not oregano, the manager who spoke with me (An older gentleman, I believe his name was Yanell) did not seem concerned and was quite abrupt and rude in assisting me. He offered me a free food item but I declined as I did not come to score a free item or anything like that. He cut me off while I was trying to explain that I did not want anything for free and was more concerned that he was trying to tell me that it was oregano. He went and got another manager (younger man, I am unsure of his name) who was able to help me get a refund issued for the item. I normally do not write reviews or make complaints about food as I have worked in food service and understand things happen. However, I have also worked as a manager in a food establishment and considering how poorly the situation was handled I felt the need to say something. I have attached pictures of the food as I described with what I believe to be weevil larvae or some unknown insect larvae/worm on the radishes.

After much planning, my friends and I went to Morra Mia for lunch, only to be completely disappointed by the lack of service. We understand Sundays can be busy, but our waiter, Jesus, showed no sense of urgency. We waited endlessly for items that never arrived, and despite other staff clearly seeing our struggle, they chose to ignore us. After repeatedly asking for water with no response, I had to practically beg another waiter—only to be met with, “Do you know who your waiter is?” I told her I did but explained that I had already asked him three times with no luck. Strangely enough, he had no problem bringing us our check right away and swiftly collecting our payment. The manager never checked on us, and to top it off, there was vomit in the sink. When I reported it to a host, she barely acknowledged it and honestly looked hungover. No complimentary chips, no water refills, no coffee refills, and no dessert tray were ever offered. To make matters worse, parking was so limited that we had to walk over a block just to get to the restaurant. I ordered the Enchiladas Montadas which was good but the rice was extremely dry. The only thing I really enjoyed was the cafe the olla. Overall, a terrible experience—we will not be returning.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Mexican Culinary Experience at Morra Mia ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Morra Mia is nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The service? Impeccable—attentive, friendly, and truly committed to making every guest feel special. The food was the star of the show! We started with a bowl of white chicken pozole, and it was everything you’d hope for—rich, authentic, and bursting with comforting flavors. Then came the Mar Y Tierra for two, featuring Arrachera, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, Fundido, Cebollitos, and Toreados—a perfectly crafted feast where each bite was a masterpiece. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the Flan arrived—smooth, decadent, and the perfect way to wrap up an incredible meal. Morra Mia did not disappoint. With its La Taqueria barrio-style charm and top-tier flavors, this may just become my new favorite spot for delicious Mexican cuisine. **Highly recommend—10/10!

Our server Ruby ruined the entire experience. She made it clear that this place is not family friendly, not kid friendly, and SHES not friendly.

From her attitude to her lack of urgency we couldnt even enjoy the food or the experience because any little thing we did just seemed to annoy her. Initially we were sat at a table that wasnt cleaned, no biggie. The glasses were visually dirty and she was annoyed we asked for new ones. When I asked if they had coffee she said yes then annoyed explained theres a cafe and she'd get me a menu but never took my coffee order after the fact....no one showed up with bread. When she took our order, somehow what we ordered frustrated her? She started walking away while asking if we were done ordering? I leaned over & showed her a picture of the birthday shake and asked "are these still available" she said yes and I asked if I could get one now please and she leaned on her hip and as loud as she could said "well we only fo them for birthdays so..." -it was my sister's birthday. She came to visit and I thought i would surprise her...I said yea I know, it was suppose to be a surprise but if I could still get it....I asked for it before the food cause I knew it would take forever and she brought it last, after we packed up our food AFTER we reminded her. She set it on the table, picked up a plate and left the check....i told my little sister to wait a bit for her to come back and light the candle and she never came back with one....i tried to downplay it like "oh maybe they dont do the candle o should've brought one i didnt know"....not 3 minutes later another server comes out with a birthday shake, a hat, and other servers....walked to a table next to us, lit a candle, and started singing...we went "oh okay maybe they only do it for kids?" just for us to see it was also a grown man...our girls sang instead and tried to make my sister feel special no thanks to Ruby....from start to finish Ruby was rude, dismissive, wanted nothing to do with our table until she brought the check. She ONLY smiled at us after she brought the final check. I tipped and have regretted the tip since I signed the paper....I was STILL trying to be nice but its been 12hrs and I should've wrote 0.

The food, delicious. The theme and atmosphere, beautiful. Ruby, left a taste so bad I dont think any of it...

So, this will be a two part review. The first time walking into Morra Mia, about 5 weeks ago. I was immediately entranced. It was the holiday season: the lights, the expectation, the excitement of tasting old dishes with new twists on them - the all encompassing possibilities of completely loving this place - VANISHED - as soon as my friend opened the door. The hostess looked us dead in the face and then looked away. It was as if she thought she heard something and then quickly decided it must have been her imagination. As we moved closer to her hosting area, she quickly acknowledged the fact that they were full and had no tables available. After inquiring about how long the wait would be, she appeared annoyed, answering, “I couldn’t tell you.” At this point it was almost comical, when I reiterated, “you can’t tell us how long the wait will be??” “No”, quite matter of factly, she replied. Oh! Okay … thanks for that. And so my dear friend and I walked across the street to enjoy the wonderful food and service at The Italian Kitchen.

After that experience, I had pretty much mental noted it, that Morra Mia was not a place I wanted to spend either my time or my money on. However, it was a Sunday, and I was outnumbered. So, back I went. And let me tell you, the food was okay - definitely overpriced. But I’m looking forward to returning and paying exorbitant prices for just okay food, IF, and only IF, Edgar is our waiter!! I cannot express enough what an incredible experience it was to be taken care of as if you and your party are the only ones in the restaurant. At this point, for me, it was all about his professionalism, his personality, his attentiveness, and his ability to anticipate needs and wants so well, that we weren’t even aware we wanted desserts or drinks or pan, Lol!! It was truly an amazing outing!! The place itself - just okay. The server himself Edgar so much fun and quite the professional!! Hope this place can get its act together, because it is nice to have options in 5 points. But one man cannot save this place alone. I keep reading the owners replies about training staff. However, can you really train someone to be Of service and take pride and ownership of their ability to elevate an experience?? Not sure you can. Not sure this place survives without him. Thanks, Edgar!!...

I would like to begin by acknowledging that the food was excellent and the restaurant was very clean. However, my experience was unfortunately marred by an incident with our initial waiter, which significantly impacted my overall impression. While attempting to serve my friend, the waiter accidentally spilled two full drinks onto me by reaching across the table instead of walking around. As a result, I was drenched—my pants, shoes, socks, and shirt were all completely soaked in sugary margaritas.

We did our best to clean up using the available napkins while the waiter got a new chair for me and a bin to collect the spilled drinks. While I appreciated his apology and could understand his embarrassment, he did not return to clean up the sticky floor. Also, it took a considerable amount of time for our drinks to be replaced, and we had to ask multiple times for new silverware and napkins. After that, the waiter was largely absent from our table.

We spoke with the floor manager, who assigned us a new waiter. The service improved significantly after that. However, when it came time to settle the bill, I was shocked to discover that I was expected to pay the full amount. I was surprised that the staff had not communicated the spill to the management, nor had they offered any compensation, such as removing items from the bill, offering a gift card, or even providing a complimentary dessert.

I explained my situation to the new waiter, requesting some consideration given that I was still wet. In response, the only adjustment made to my bill was the removal of my wife’s $7 non-alcoholic lemonade. After spending the evening in discomfort due to the spilled drinks, this felt like an insufficient resolution. I have never experienced such a lack of consideration at any restaurant when a customer has been affected by a spill...
