Peking Kitchen — Restaurant in El Paso

I have a hard time rating this place, due to conflicting feelings as a reviewer. I love to come hang out here, and work, because I can get a decent meal in a relaxed atmosphere, but there are issues. The staff are very friendly and pleasant, creating an extremely welcoming and warm environment, that's why I love to come and sit for a bit. That said, the place is ugly, inside and out. It's in an ancient strip center that has seen better days. The interior of the restaurant isn't bad as long as you don't look too close. There are cracks in the walls, it desperately needs some repairs, a fresh coat of paint, ceiling tiles replaced, and don't get me started on the bathroom. The whole place just feels neglected.

The restaurant is generally clean, so no complaints there, though sometimes service isn't as good as it should be. Several times I've had to ask more than once for condiments, or part of my order was missing. Not normally a huge issue, but I happens enough that it's annoying, and it's hard to say that when I like the front of house crew.

Here's the rub, it's not a bad place for a decent Chinese meal, as long as you can ignore the appearance. The staff will treat you well, but be prepared to potentially have to ask more than...

My coworkers and I always order from here. the foods good honestly. But the delivery driver with the red pick up truck is rude. i honestly thought he was fired or something. the other delivery drivers cool af (black car). the first time he came to DELIVER we were at work stayed outside of the store honking at us shaking the bag for us to go out and get it. first of all its not curb side pick up its delivery. then when i called and complained a few mins later he was outside throwing hand signals to us and laughing. after that the manager said that that was never going to happen whatever . which i mean it didnt because we always got a badass delivery man. so today i ordered food and he calls the store and says "Im outside come get your food" i told him i had customers in the store if he could please bring it in. He then parks on the sidewalk and throws the food on the counter and laughs as hes walking away mocking me saying "I have customers in the store" and then he still has the gut to stand outside laughing and flipping me off. Now the customers that were in the store also always go to this place to eat and now theyre really upset at the way he behaved i mean if you dont like the job get a different job....

I just recently came across this place.  I have ordered the lunch specials for take-out twice so far.  I love this food.  My take-out orders consisted of orange chicken, rice, an egg roll, and egg drop soup.  I have been to other Chinese restaurants and they do not give soup to go.  Immediately, when I ordered the first time and they offered the soup to go, I knew this place was different.  The lunch specials are very affordable and the portions are a good size.

The egg drop soup is delicious along with the rest of my meal.  This is my go-to Chinese restaurant now, even though I drive an additional 10 minutes to get here bypassing other restaurants. The staff is friendly and the seating area is clean. I do suggest when you do go, park on the east side of the building along Huckleberry Street or on the west side of the building on the side of Pet's Barn.  The front parking lot is narrow and can be difficult...
