Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in El Paso

Rudy's was highly recommended by all my friends living in the area. We went in for lunch and we were greeted by the host, he asked whether this was our first time (the answer was yes) and then he spent a few minutes explaining us how it works and answering our questions. The way it works is simple, there are no combos everything you get is a la cart. You can pick up some drinks on the way to the register, we got the pineapple one, they have several flavors and also beer. We also picked up some coleslaw from the fridge, other options included potato salad and banana pudding. Once at the register, you can order your protein; without even asking we were offered tasty samples. The moist brisket was the winner for me, I tasted the lean one too, but the moist was just too good. The portions are typically 1/2 lbs but you can add or remove as you like. We also ordered the green chili. Bread is complementary with the protein when you don't get a sandwich; you can chose between white or brown. After that you can get some toppings including chili peppers, onions, lemon and carrots. The restaurant is quite large and it was easy to find a spot to eat near the window. They have a hand washing station just outside the restroom (it can get messy if you order ribs for example). The food was great and it's definitely a must if you get the chance and like Texas bbq!

There are many great things about this place. The food, sweet tea and of course the Peach Cobbler! About a month or so ago, I went there and had lunch around 11am and I noticed around 7 pm that I could not find my wallet! I called the Rudy's to see if someone had turned it in and no one had. I, like most people have very important things inside of my wallet! So I thought back to the last time I had it and .it was at Rudys. I returned to the store to talk to a manager to see if they could check the video to see if maybe it got thrown away. Jerry was the manager on duty and right away began to help me but checking cameras, asking employees and physically began to look with me. Jerry then contacted an off duty Manager named Hector, who although was not working began to help immediately. I requested to look in the dumpster because I began to figure out it was thrown in the trash! Jerry gave me an Apron and gloves and allowed me to begin looking. Jerry also introduced himself to the trash in helping me look through it. Which blew my mind because he was very willing and not being asked, jumped right in. After about 45 mins of dumpster diving, the wallet was found. Withput those two managers help there is no way possible I would of found my wallet! I am so very grateful that those two guys worked there and did everything possible to help me locate my wallet that I lost by throwing it in the trash. THANK YOU JERRY...

My girlfriend couldn't boast more about this place. Well, I used the restroom and when I came out, my gf was arguing with the cashier behind the counter. This girl must of had a bad day, I thought. My gf is Not argumentive But this girl behind the county Had a Nasty attitude. She threw the food in our basket. I, personally couldn't wait to leave her presence. As we were going to sit down I heard her in the kitchen complaining about us. A guy came over and closed the kitchen door as this employee wouldn't stop complaining.. and I thought.. what the hell was she complaining about. Because we didn't take Her Attitude. I noticed a family having beers So I thought. That sounds like a Great idea. So I grabbed a Cold one out of the trough and brought it to the store area because I did Not want to deal with Amanda at the food counter. The guy rings me up and it came to $4.87 for ONE bottle of Landshark. It would of been Awesome of the guy to lmk for $11.99 I could of purchased a Six pack. So I could of had 5 to take home for and extra 5 bucks.. Good Looking out man! Got the impression The staff was Just concerned about Closing procedures than Customer Service . I managed a Walgreens for over 20 years, and Amanda would of Not been tolerated at my Store....
