I'll review the food and not the interior of the restaurant. I really don't care much about the looks than the taste. I ordered a beef, chicken shawarma, and a kebbah. The kebbah is about 3 dollars something. They are pretty big. They are alright. They are not your authentic kebbab. They are bit on the spicy side. It sort of taste like an indian kabab for some reason. No pine nuts in them. I didn't really like them much where I'd order them again. They seem to be made and not some store frozen ones. The shawarma is obviously not your authentic shawarma. It is cooked on a pan with spices rather off a skew. The bread is seperated into two layers and one layer is used for the sandwich. Pretty small sandwich. The beef shawarma was not tender meat. The tahini was delicious. And they add a piece of tomatoe and thats about it. I didn't like it over all. The chicken had tahini rather garlic. It also had few fries in the sandwich. The chicken was also cooked on a pan with a very light shawarma taste for some reason. The chicken was not tender. It also lacked that charcoal look about it. The cook was 2.40 plus tax for a tiny small foam cup filled with ice...oh god no. The entire total was about 29 dollars for 2 shawarma 2l3 kebbah and a drink. If it was the only arabic restaurant I'd go there again, but ali baba has the best bread and shawarma...
Read moreThe worst middle eastern food I've ever tasted. Not worth what we were charged for the dinner. Tasteless and horrible chicken kebab. Wasn't even a kebab. Chicken breast was sliced and sautéed with sautéed onions and tomatoes. It wasn't grilled as the menu stated. Chicken and vegetables were supposed to be grilled also and they weren't. Hummus was sparse and flavorless and flooded with olive oil. Pita bread was terrible and flavorless, also. How can you mess up pita bread and hummus? Basic stuff. The dinner my husband had with curried beef was oily and didn't taste like curry. His salad was drenched in olive oil and flavorless. Just Terrible all around. Dining area is run down, old and musky smelling. Seeing the outside of the restaurant was a dead giveaway that it was not going to be good. Don't waste your money or time eating here. It was the worst dining experience ever! Sinbad, is exactly...
Read moreWe came in a half an hour before closing and they were cleaning up. We offered to leave but they said they could do a Togo... we should have left.
I had the Vegetarian Plate and it was nearly inedible. The baba ganoush was burned and then puréed and tasted like cigarette ash . I had my partner taste The falafel smelled foul and one bite confirmed that it was either rancid or had been stored with chemicals... I can’t remember the last time I spit out food, but there was no choice. I was able to eat the dolmas and hummus, though neither made up for the aforementioned missteps. As a restaurant owner and chef, I understand mistakes can be made... orders can be switched, food may sit and get cold...but this was inexcusable. I sincerely hope they get a better handle on their...
