When in Texas you have to eat some bbq. Overall we had a decent experience dining here. The building however is so small it makes large parties a pain even if you call ahead of time. Also there is barely any room to wait to be seated inside the restaurant. It is a very cramped space. The food was good I wish they had baby back ribs and different bbq sauce options like other bbq restaurants, but we can’t have it all. I ordered 2 beef, 2 spare , toreado Mac, brisket and fries. The ribs were good, very large portions. The torreado Mac was advertised as spicy, but not spicy in the slightest. I didn’t get a chance to try the French fries because they never came, but our server David accommodated me for it. My issue really came when it was time to pay, our server was all over the place. He brought out the checks then disappeared to help another table. Then after a few minutes of everyone gathering their payments he returned and started to process payments. He did 1 person out of 7 then left again to help other tables. Came back after a few minutes processed another 2 payments, then left again and continually repeating this process. Helping 1 or 2 of us at a time then leaving for 5-10 minutes. So just to pay to well over 30 minutes. I get it’s busy but take care of the customers trying to pay and leave before you help everyone else. Get the new table some drinks, then get our bills taken care of then do the rest. Very inconvenient to make a party who already ate wait 30 minutes just for checkout process. If you are that busy ask a manager or someone in the back for help just taking care of the tabs. I’ve had better bbq, but it was still good and still worth a try if you are in the area. Try the big baked potatoes it is a whole meal by itself. Be prepared to EAT cause they give you nice sized portions for the price you pay.

While I’ve only been here once the “BBQ” as they called it was average at best. The staff was great along with the potato salad and okra. The brisket and sausage on the other hand was horrible. I wish I had a before pic and better pics of the food I didn’t eat. I can’t remember the last time I returned the food or didn’t get it to-go (and at least give it to our dogs)or eat it all, I couldn’t stomach this! Here’s the descriptions: brisket resembled 1/3 smoked brisket, 1/3 broiled in the oven or crock pot, the final 1/3 grilled and burnt over an open flame, I guess to warm it up. And to make matters worse, they sliced it with the grain which made it even tougher to eat, most of all no smoke flavor and no smoke ring. The sausage: I haven’t eaten ekrich kielbasa in a long while but this would be a close comparison. No smoke flavor, very greasy and “hot dog” like in texture and flavor. Again, this too seemed to be tossed on an open flame to heat up and like the brisket probably burnt on the grill. Well, I can’t figure out how to add the pic

The service was exact on the dot. Food arrived quickly and the quantity we received was quite generous. Now it is not the best BBQ I have ever had but for the price given and food quantity (quality is good but again I have been to Austin TX and it would feel disingenuous to not state this). The BBQ ribs tho are quite good not to mention the macaroni and cheese with bacon and green peppers. Here is a picture of the amount of food I received for two hungry eaters. Parking is pretty small but when is busy they have someone outside to direct you to open parking spaces. Our dessert was a chocolate brownie with ice cream on top covered with chocolate syrup and almonds. Me being bias since I love ice cream and pastries can state that this was the best brownie I had ever had. It was still hot and so moist and rich Wich complemented with the ice cream just perfectly. Once the ice cream melted and infused with the brownie it was just perfect. 10/10 for dessert. Do order the BBQ rip tips those were yummy as well. Plus the sausage too.

It’s a huge shame you can’t leave a no-star review. DO NOT EAT HERE. I know that sounds dramatic but my grandma was hospitalized on Friday and it turns out she has salmonella. She had lunch here on Monday (ate beef ribs, cole slaw and potato salad) and the next day she was violently sick, throwing up, diarrhea, the works. Her condition did not improve much until Friday. She was bedridden and drinking small amounts of liquid. When we went over to her house on Saturday she was lucid but could not walk. Mind you, she walks at the rec center every morning so we were immediately alarmed. We took her to the ER where they told us she had incredibly low levels of potassium (which we later learned is what caused the muscle weakness/inability to walk). Anyway, the doctors took a few days to figure out what exactly caused the dramatic drop in potassium and they found out she had salmonella…. If this review doesn’t keep you from eating at this establishment that clearly has zero food safety practices in play (which I should note is illegal and this place could face liability for their lack of food hygiene) then hopefully the health inspectors notified to investigate this contamination...

Bottom Line: Overpriced Very Average Food

Having traveled all over the United States, and having tried many different forms of BBQ, I would say I am in a position to dispense a well-informed opinion.

First, the atmosphere is not great. The venue is cramped and it looks like the owners haven’t put much into the place in a very long time (yet I was told one of them drove a brand new Corvette that was parked out front – this says something about their sense of being in this world).

Second, the service was unimpressive. I could tell immediately that the wait staff had received very little training in customer service (something that’s not uncommon around El Paso, but it was still disappointing).

Third, the food was very average, if not below average. I paid over $18 for a sampler platter which came with ribs, a sausage, macaroni and cheese, and brisket. Everything but the macaroni and cheese was dry and the only enjoyable part of the meal was the BBQ sauce that had been drenched over the meat (presumably to cover up the dryness).

Overall, I was not impressed and will probably never go back there unless the...
