We are giving 2 stars because the waitress was really nice & we got seated immediately (but we were the only ones in there) & this was around dinner time…an empty dining room during dinner time is never a good sign lol. Where do I even begin…the 4.5 star rating is very confusing. Out of all the Thai restaurants I have been to, this place takes the win. The win for the most horrible experience I’ve ever had in my life. After craving Thai food for months, we decided to try this place out. This place was the first Thai restaurant we wanted to try since moving to El Paso from California. After all, the reviews looked decent…anyways. We were greeted by a friendly waitress once entered. We sat down & about 10 mins later she took our order. We ordered the chicken satay for an appetizer & I ordered the Chicken Pad See Ew & my partner ordered the crispy basil chicken. After about 45 minutes, the apps finally came out…Never have I waited that long being the only patrons in room lol! Then we waited an addition 30 mins for our main dishes to come out…I understand the Togo orders were a bit busy but come on, you can’t have paid customers wait a long time if there’s no one else seated! It doesn’t end there, my Pad see ew was sooo bland & the noodles were still clumped together & there was hardly any vegetables. I was appalled that this simple dish can even be messed up…it’s almost equivalent to cooking fried rice lol. Oh & my partners crispy basil chicken dish looked more like soggy basil soap. It was soaked in the sauce. We definitely will never go back & hope someone that’s looking to try this place out for the first time will really consider the low star reviews, cause they weren’t lying !! The food was over priced. I’m more upset I wasted my time when I could’ve gone & had some damn...
Read moreIf you are looking for AUTHENTIC and DELICIOUS Thai food, this is the BEST El Paso has to offer. If you are looking to experience quality Thai dishes, look no further; the chef is from Thailand, and she brings the taste from The Land of 1,000 Smiles right to your table. The service is superb and the staff makes you feel like family. One of the waitresses, Dream, is from Thailand and she will give you quality service that you would expect from her homeland. If you need advice on what to order, let Dream be your guide. They are known for thier Pad Thai, which I love, but my ultimate favorite is the Thai Street Style Chicken Basil; also, substitute the chicken for ground pork and you won't be disappointed. To finish off your meal, try the mango sticky rice for dessert, If you ever wanted to visit Thailand, this wonderful restaurant is your quick ticket to Thai quality food and excellent Thai service. Enjoy!!
UPDATE: Just tried a new dish that Chef will be putting on their menu, soon. For you seafood lovers, try a native Thai favorite: Pad Pong Karee (Stir-Fried Seafood with Curry Powder). This dish has shrimp, calamari, mussels and plenty of vegetables that combines savory, spicy, and aromatic, making it a classic favorite in Thailand. It was absolutely delicious. If seafood is not your cup of tea, try asking for chicken or pork, instead. I bet Chef will not disappoint you.
The service, like always, is top tier. If you have any question on this dish or any other Thai dishes, ask Dream. Not only is she from Thailand, but she will also show you what Thai hospitality is all about.
Tara Thai not only offers delicious and authentic Thai food, but they also offer quality service that will make your dining experience a pleasant one that you will want to go back and...
Read moreAs a blended Thai family we know Thai food. This restaurant is supposed to be the best Thai food in El Paso, they missed completely in all 3 areas. I recommend not to eat here. The food is not good, the service is horrible, and they are over priced.
The food was not authentic Thai. The portions were extremely small and the price was extremely high. The seafood soup $16 only had shrimp and some veggies; it was missing mussels, squid, and the variety of seafood most other places have. We asked for medium hot it came out mild, and when we asked to make it hotter waitress said for us to do it ourself. The Yum Nua $28 was sweet like teriyaki sauce, missing ground rice, and on top of tossed salad. We wanted Thai food not Japanese. Authentic Yum Nua would have a more limon and fish sauce flavor, ground rice, on a bed of cabbage. And it too was mild, not medium at all. The panang chicken $18 was ok but the portion was small for the price.
The price was way too high and it was not elegant. It looked like a hole in the wall spot, no parking, and for the price you'd expect a more elegant ambience, building, experience. The place was run down. Don't get us wrong, we don't mind a small run down spot, but at least have good food. This place did not.
The waitress was horrible. She was rude. When we tried to ask her for refills, or something she looked like she was annoyed. The service was ridiculous bad, we wait 30-45 minutes to get our food.
We will never...
