Sunny’s sushi has decided to follow the path that leads to closure, simultaneously raising prices and cutting quality. Their California rolls are now 80% cucumber, with just a small amount of Avacado and half or a third of a crab leg , pictured below. The Rainbow roll, stating in the menu “four kinds of fresh fish on top” had salmon, Avacado, and shrimp and tuna, which by my count is only two kinds of fresh fish. Kudos to the sushi chef for his ability in slicing the salmon to a paper thin, transparent slice as well. The cost cutting measures didn’t stop there. Wasabi is not provided unless requested, and even when you do request it, it is not brought out unless you ask a second time when the sushi arrives. I had to go up to the manager to get a refill on my iced tea. It was not busy or crowded, there were two servers and 6 tables occupied, and the servers were rarely seen. Ours checked on us once the entire time we were there. 4 rolls were $75, and none of them were noteworthy. We will not be coming back.

Sunny's Sushi Cimarron is located on El Paso's West Side in a modern, artistic, and newer shopping center at Cimarron Square with plenty of bars and restaurants in close proximity. The atmosphere is comfortable, clean, nicely lite, and well decorated with table seating, a few booths, and small bar area. They also have a outdoor covered patio with plenty of table seating in the event the indoor dining area gets a little crowded. The preperation, presentation, taste, and quality of the appatizers and sushi rolls I ordered were excellent. I wasn't expecting the quality to compete with other sushi restaurants I've tried around the world. However, I was pleasantly suprised with the quality and everything from start to finish was amazing including the service. I recently moved to El Paso from Dallas and I'm happy I discovered this place. I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.. Recommendations: Miso Soup (on the house with every meal) Crab Meat Puff Spicy Edamame Sunny's Special Roll Mexican Orgasm Roll

Sunny has a good vibe, all the staff is friendly and attentive. I had 4 employees checking on us. Refilling my drink and picking up plates and trash. Place is clean, well decorated and music is not to loud. All three items were delicious and the portions to price good. If you love teriyaki chicken, this place has the best tasting, nice toast, love a little burnt, gives it more flavor. Bulgolgi is good maybe for me it may need more spices/ sauce but still happy with taste. The fried ice cream....I took a picture of the plate next to a bill so you can see how big this desert is. It looks like they used one half gallon of ice cream and the breading works perfect with the ice cream. This plate will feed 4 people. Rodrigo may be new, but he did a great job. There is a lady doing quality control checks so that is a good indicator of a restaurant that cares not just about their business but also about their customers. Highly recommend!

Brutal experience, very bad customer service. We got there Fri May 18, 2021 around 6:30 pm and found several four-chair-tables with only 2 customers seating. Then two-chair-tables available. We were 3, so we obviously weren’t assigned a table and were asked if we wanted to wait. My wife and I Came with an 80-year-old female friend to eat here. Asked the server if I could seat my two ladies in a 2-seater while we wait (I could just stand). Said he was going to check with someone, came back and said NO “because if we get two customers they would need that table for those other people”. I said ok, but I wish you would’ve applied that rationale when you got those 4 different couples seating in extended party tables. Do you want to speak to the manager? Sure I would. I came inside and stood about 5 feet away from the stand where manager was -while the server was (most likely) briefing the manger-. A little noisy inside. He the manager among other 2 employees and at least 2 other customers around us he says from the distance “how can I help you?” We both using face mask. I couldn’t believe he wanted me tell him my problem outloud. Only because - I guess- I am prudent I decided not to yell my concern and used just a little higher than average voice volume. Clearly he could not hear me very well, and instead of he approaching me to listen he makes a short & fast head move and places his right hand on his ear and says “I am sorry, What’s that?” He obviously wanted me to approach him. Very very poor sense of customer service. He could approach me as a customer, the host station is a simple stand with more than enough space around it to transit easily; he clearly wanted to send the message “I am here if YOU want to talk to me in front of all these employees and other customers, you should come to ME”. The worst manager I’ve ever seen in action. It actually took me probably 4 seconds to even process what I was seeing. I repeated my argument about the miss of seating and he couldn’t hear me. He dared to show me with his hand a move indicating for me to take a few steps to go to HIM. My mother thought me manners, so I was not going to make a scene. So I say “oh you want me to come to you to hear my concern? Ok”. And I REPEATED what I told the younger gentleman outside. The manager REPEATS the same argument as the sever. At this point I am thinking what the heck in the world is this guy wanting to do? Is he going to offer a solution? Or just wants to embarrass me in front of others?. Then he dares to say “there are not enough chairs but there are benches nearby”. Never got an appologie from him; he never used any empathy statements Only because my lady 80-year-old friend wanted to eat here I decided to just wait. Got a table after 25 minutes. We ate. Food is good. Customer...

Went this weekend for the first time (12/3/2023) To the Cimarron restaurant we ordered several dishes including fried calamari that look like fried mozzarella stick with no flavor. The chirashi was dry with skin on the fish and tasteless as well. We did not get the little saucer for the soy sauce or the wasabi, the manager approached us and said they only serve these upon request. We ended up talking to the other manager to return the dishes and get the bill, she said she would give a discount on the dishes we didn't like, maybe 3 or 4 dllrs. we got the bill and it was around 83 dlr and was going to leave 100 regardless, however when we got the final bill, we had an additional charge of 3%; the waiter came back and said it was because we paid with a credit card, at this point I am really upset because this was not clarified to us and he says... well, it is posted on the door! I paid cash and left the place. Things did not get better, this morning my daughter called me and told me she and her son were sick to their stomachs, I too started to get the runs. They both went to the doctor and were put on antibiotics, I go tomorrow. Anyway, my daughter had to pay for the appointment and lost a days work as a cashier at a fast food place (no pay). on her way back to the house, she stopped at the restaurant and explained all that had happened to the same woman manager (P), and she was told it was too bad. So, this Sunday lunch ended up costing us a couple of hundred dollars. I know friends that go to this place and have recommended it,...
