Came in about an hour b4 closing. I understand trying to clean up early when it's slow, but throwing all the trash cans on their sides and stuffing everything in the can right next to the table the only 2 people in the restaurant are eating at is very rude. It's not like the 2 of us were going to go around and throw trash in 5 cans. Both our Pit Beef sandwiches were ice cold. At least the fries were hot. All the condiments except for packs of ketchup were put away. I had to ask for horseradish, no mayo to mix with it, and no pre made horseradish sauce out. Wife's sandwich was medium and extremely dry. My rare sandwich seemed tough for rare beef. Have to admit the sandwiches were bigger and the place was better when it was The Canopy. I recommend if you go, you go at lunchtime while they are actively cooking, and hopefully, the food will be hot.

So yesterday, our visit to Smokys was the first time my husband and I have been out to eat in public since the pandemic. I have to say the sandwiches we ordered were delicious! šŸ˜‹ The service was so friendly and extremely helpful, however, we also ordered cream of crab soup and fries. The fries were good, don't get me wrong, but the were short little stubs of French fries. I'm not sure if we got the bottom of the bag, or if this is how they are normally. Unfortunately, the cream of crab was not great. It was very think, like paste and if there was crab meat in there, we sure didn't see or taste it. I stopped on my way home, bought claw meat and remade at home. I think I will stick with the Peppered Pig in Sparks. It's well worth the drive.

Not usually one to read reviews, but after reading other reviews about the ribs I almost cancelled my order. Let me just say I am happy I didn’t. I was expecting them to be tough and dry. In that way, I was very disappointed. They were juicy, tender, and covered in sauce. I can’t speak for other's experiences, but after eating an entire rack of their baby back ribs I feel obligated to stick up for them. For $25 I got a full rack with 2 sides and felt more than satisfied. Would order again.

Overall the food taste great. You can't go wrong when you order a pit sandwich.

Tried their baby back ribs for the first time this evening and apparently they are following the Mryon Mixon style of cooking ribs of which he likes to under cook them where you literally have to pull the meat off the bones with your teeth.

That's not a enjoyable meal and afterwards it seems like you have wasted in getting all the meat.

Step up your game so that the meat falls off the bone and you will get an upgrade in ratings.

UPDATE: In the past I have gotten the wife Cream of Crab soup which is great but she has since changed her diet so an order of regular Maryland Crab soup was ordered instead.

Apparently the cook or servers, not sure who to blame here but the bowl of Crab soup was 75% brought and 25% ingredients.

Not worth the money on that purchase.

Baked beans? They are not baked beans, especially from a bbg place. Baked beans are dark in color with bacon, thick and sweet in flavor.

The "baked beans" at this place are a joke and should be taking off the menu.

Ordered the green beans as a second side with the ribs as well as these things that this place calls baked beans.

The green bean dish is served with chunks of ham of which I thought was odd when other places serve then with bits of bacon, secondly? They tasted as if they were trying to make Crab soup out of them but forgot to include them in the soup but decided to serve them as a side dish instead.

This place has fallen down hill.

Makes one wonder why there second location in Ellicott City closed up.

As a local resident in the area? We will no longer be purchasing food...

A friend took me to Smokey's for lunch. I had the small chicken BBQ on a roll with mild sauce and a baked potato with butter, sour cream and chives. The chicken in the BBQ was well cooked and a nice quality but the BBQ sauce was really weird. It tasted like a mild BBQ sauce mixed with an Italian type chicken parm sauce. The Italian seasoning flavor in the BBQ sauce was odd, unexpected and a bit off putting. My friend's pit beef and fries with gravy looked great, he said it was great and he cleaned his plate. I was able to use some of the sauces in bottles at the drink refill station to mostly hide the flavor of the odd sauce on my chicken BBQ. My baked potato was good, perfectly baked but both my sandwich and my potato were cold. The staff were nice and I'm sure they would have warmed up my food if I had complained however they were quite busy and I didn't want to be a bother. My friends food was hot, I could see the heat rising off his brown gravy. I would go there again but I'd order my meat without any sauce on it and use the sauces from the beverage refill area to spice things up. They did offer free drink refills which is nice and is becoming a rarity these days. I gave my visit a 3 if I was rating my friends experience it would be a 5, he loved his big beefy meal. I would eat...

Update: 4/10/24

Had not returned to this restaurant since my last post over two years ago. Was working at one of my offices in Eldersburg. A co-worker was looking for places to eat on-line and suggested trying this place (he never ate here before). Told him about my previous experience but he mentioned it was a while ago and maybe they changed and offered to treat me to lunch. I ordered the junior pit beef sandwich meal (cooked medium with Maryland crab soup and fries). My friend ordered the baby back ribs meal. We got back to the office (only a 6 minute drive). My pit beef sandwich was tough to chew, and the crab soup was ice cold. The fries were little nubs and undercooked. My friend's ribs were also very tough. He handed me a piece and I could not even chew it. We ended up tossing out both meals as we had limited lunch time and could not return the food.

Gave them a second chance but never again.

Went here to order some take out food. Noticed that some staff were wearing masks, others not. There was a white gentleman with a beard who was getting out the fries. Not wearing a mask. He sneezed a few times, rubbed his nose and mouth with his hands, and then proceeded to get the fries....
