Oberweis continues to uphold its reputation as a premier destination for quality ice cream and exceptional service. During our recent visit, we were greeted by a wonderfully pleasant staff member who made the experience special from the moment we approached the counter.
The ice cream selection was impressive, offering both classic favorites and unique flavors. My son couldn't have been happier with his double scoop combination of vanilla and chocolate - a testament to how well Oberweis executes even the most traditional flavors. The vanilla was rich and creamy with that authentic bean flavor, while the chocolate delivered that deep, satisfying cocoa taste that chocolate lovers crave.
My daughter went for a scoop of cookies and cream, which proved to be an excellent choice. The cookie pieces were generously distributed throughout the creamy base, providing that perfect balance of smooth and crunchy textures that make this flavor a perpetual favorite.
What truly sets Oberweis apart is their commitment to quality ingredients and customer service. The ice cream has that distinctively fresh, homemade taste that you can only get from premium dairy products. The helpful and friendly server behind the counter enhanced our visit with her warm demeanor and patient assistance as the kids made their selections.
The shop itself was clean and well-maintained, with an inviting atmosphere that makes it a perfect spot for family treats. The portion sizes were generous, and the ice cream maintained its consistency throughout the eating experience - no rapid melting or ice crystal issues that sometimes plague lesser establishments.
Whether you're looking for a family outing, a sweet afternoon treat, or just craving some premium ice cream, Oberweis delivers on all fronts. The combination of exceptional ice cream and wonderful service makes this place a standout choice for ice cream enthusiasts...
Read moreMy honest review. First, I love the products here. You guys make the best shakes and I visit your place once every 2 weeks at least. Thank You.
However, I have a few line items which promoted me to drop a review with 3 stars. Here are some opportunities:
Your online ordering allows a curb-side pickup. Then it says call us when you're here and park in designated spots. There's none. I called last time when I was there and the guy on the phone was clueless. He was like, come inside and get it. Well, then why do you have an option of curbside pickup? I am not joking.. check for yourself.
Second, I love your mindset of hiring the high-school / young people as it's a great opportunity for them to be trained with customer service. Kudos. However, you need them to be trained bit better. First, they need to listen to the order / read the online order properly before making it. I order my shake every time without a whipped cream ( I am allergic to one of the chemicals ) and they just follow their standard template and add a whipped cream. If I ask for a manager, some young inexperienced person shows up. No, you need one proper adult who can take responsibility for the store and also train these young employees. They need guidance. And, you're dealing with customers.
All in all, I am getting more disappointed with...
Read moreToday I can't let it go by without sharing my story. Problem with freezer today so at 2pm, I said l wanted to purchase a hand packed quart of their Lemon BlackBerry which is a 5 star flavor.
Since they were out of quart lids I could only buy prepackaged quarts in about 20-30 minutes due to freezer problem.
How about I just take it as 2 pints and that would equal a quart I asked. After the some conversation a young woman said sure but we have to charge you for two pints which is $4.00 more than the cost of one quart.
I ended up taking just a pint. Very disappointed in the leadership training provided to this young staff. Good leaders would have said give our quart customers two pints at the quart price until we are back to normal operation. Keep a stroke tally so we can identify how many pints we sold in place of quarts.
Seriously the owner/operator/ manager didn't run to St.Charles and borrow some lids until their shipment came. What type of leadership training doesn't include how to manage irregular operation examples and how to correct?
Yes Mr Oberweis you have a quality product however today I should have driven down to Andy's. The confusion at the window was...
