Burlington — Local services in Elgin

I put a suitcase on layaway and was told by the lady at the check out that I would have as long as I wanted to pay off the suitcase. I return almost two months later to pay it off only to realize that the lady I talked to gave me incorrect information. Turns out I only had 30 days to pay off the layaway. So the beautiful suitcase I wanted was gone. I had to buy another suitcase, luckily it was a similar type to the one I had before, just a different color and pattern. During my whole experience, I was helped by Veronica, Brianna, and Shamila. They were all super helpful and the manager took off the money I put down for the bag I originally had on layaway so I just paid the remaining balance. The manager here (lady in green hair) is so rude. I came to return an item and it had a stain on it when I purchased it that I didn’t notice. She told me that I couldn’t return it because there’s no way to verify that it was not purchased in this condition. All of this I was fine with and understand different policies , HOWEVER, her delivery of this news was TERRIBLE. She gave me attitude and was so rude . All she had to say was “I’m sorry ma’am but unfortunately I cannot accept bc of blah blah” and I would have understood. She was extremely rude and should not be in customer service. What happened to the days when Burlington sold coats, ....and more coats. Stopped in to the Elgin store for a winter coat for my wife! What a shock! Selection was pathetic and what was there was obviously aimed at diminutive teenagers! In looking at men's coats the same was apparent. If you don't want a "puffer" coat, forget it.
