Making it my goal to check this company reviews every other week & refresh mines until. My voice is heard. I WORK HARD LIKE EVERYBDY ESLE AND JUST WANTED FAIRNESS. I WORK 2 JOBS one of my jobs Im dedicated to just for the customers here n my town. I knw the importance of GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. Treat ppl right regardless of color or whatever. I DONE HELPED SO MANY PPL N THIS SMALL TOWN THAT WASNT MY COLOR. As an adult the owner behavior was unacceptable to me. We in 2023.ONE PERSON Can take a stand. Power behind TRUTH.Ill be looking at reviews I wondering if Poor customer service was geared only toward blacks people that go there???!!! Other day the customer service there was very rude if you not their color. The owner was nasty as well and dnt like black people. I waited in line 2 cars ahead of me white couple order they food and had us wait in line. Then when I got up to window the rules changed. Be fair dont break your rules for 1 set of ppl. Let it apply to all I will be spreading the word on this business. I knw alot ppl money dont make u treat ppl any type way. I been in customer service for over 15 plus well knw n this area. They wont be n business long. Customers is what make ur business flourish thank you. Lucky I knw alot ppl who love my customer serivce im dedicate time just to show ppl how much their business is need at the place I work. My reputation speaks for itself. I call the owner out on his racism he displayed toward me hostile at the drive thru when i just wait 20mins for a white couple to get their food but wen i drive to place a order a very different tune for me. I dont appreicate it and everything he touch will fail. God dont like ugly. Would give zero stars to this business it sad because i been going here since I was a child im 34 now. And it sad it still exist that people feel like one set of people is above another. Treat everybdy way you would want to be treated. Then he try to play this card like i dont knw rules and regulations not knwing I done seat around very wealthy ppl. And they havent act as foolish as he did. I really dont think its same owner I hope not I do knw a few yrs ago that place was broken into and stolen kids game set. It was a big write up n the daily advance. But just like they was kids & got treated wrong im smbdy daugther kid that got treated wrong for no reason. Only way we can stop bad ppl is by being bold and stand up against wrong doings. I have been going to this sandwich market for the last 2 years! The owner would give me a discount but I never knew what it was. I get the same thing every time I come in. I usually tell the staff and they do whatever. I am TERRIBLE with math I was in resource math since I was a small child with a learning disability… so this time I told the staff member I thought it was 20% … But apparently it is 5% the ‘owner’ got real Nasty with me and berated and degraded me right there in the restaurant in front of staff and everyone else saying, ‘you try to get my staff to do things they are not supposed to do every time you come in here’ of course this is not true. She went on to make a big issue even as I remained calm and tried to talk with her and say all she needed to do was explain that to me. But no, she continued to yell, be boisterous and accuse me of taking from her business… I have spent hundreds of dollars in there mind you. I then called Rick and told him while in the back round she is yelling an still being Nasty while having a conversation with him he was very kind and apologetic. I went into tears because it is very traumatic to be accused of something you never were intentionally trying to do and feel as if you are being reprimanded especially when my math skill are terrible! Brings back lots of memories of being bullied when I was younger. Heart braking to feel like it is okay to treat people so badly. If you have an issue you go to the person and talk with them. You NEVER assume someone is being malicious. I won’t be back. The food is amazing and staff is nice. Rick is a great guy but his wife is RUDE AND MEAN...

We came down to Elizabeth City just to get away from the Hampton Roads area for a while. I was just expecting to order a sandwich, but the friendly lady who greeted us recommended the beef brisket meal.

The beef brisket (served only on Sundays) was THE BEST I've ever tasted. It was seasoned (in not in a shy way) and cooked perfectly. The side of a sauce that comes with brisket tasted good too, but, honestly, it wasn't even necessary for such that gloriously tasty cooked meat.

I had never heard of pineapple casserole before, but now I'm a lover of it. The macaroni and cheese and a corn bread rounded the meal out perfectly. I was so full after that, I didn't even get around to eating the lemon cake I ordered with the meal. I ate that the next day, and, wow, that was tasty too. I should have ordered two.

From now on, The Sandwish Market, is a "must visit" for me when I come to...
