So, I have been eating at Bruno’s for a very long time and within the last few months it was sold to new owners. Whenever that happens sadly, many restaurants either go downhill or is just not as good as they can be. I am happy to say that’s not the case at Bruno’s. The new owners are doing a great job of providing fantastic food! We’ve eaten there a few times recently and everything has been great. The pizza is delicious and they always have a variety of types of pies to choose from. The other day I had the chicken noodle soup (home made by the way) and it is as good as my families home made!! They also had chicken & rice available! This is a great neighborhood pizza place and the owners are friendly and are truly happy to have you eat there!! Enjoy!!

This pizza spot was amazing under the original owner, but ever since the business switched owners the service and product has significantly declined. Today I purchased a pizza and was utterly disappointed by what I received. First, the pizza was not properly cut So I had to take it upon myself to cut it, which made it a complete mess. Second of all the pizza was smothered in oil and I understand that Pizza is a greasy food, but this pizza was extremely greasy to the point the crust was soggy And the cheese and toppings would just slip right off. Will never be coming back to this establishment and you shouldn’t spend your money here

I was a little skeptical initially because some of the reviews weren’t so great. I looked at other places in my search but kept coming back to this one for some reason. I’m so glad I chose Bruno’s. It was literally the best pepperoni pizza we’ve ever had. The service was also top notch. Everyone was very pleasant. I found out the owner is from Italy, which made sense as to why the pizza was so good. I can’t vouch for other toppings but the XL Pepperoni was phenomenal. It even heated up well. Be sure to shake some parmesan cheese, garlic, and oregano on top. Give them a try!!

New owners and you know what that means?

Everything changes.

We went there for years and when we DID have a problem, it was taken care of. The food was always top notch and well done. The best pizza hands down and bar none in Jersey.

But, that changed with these new owners. It went from being an old Italian family to a bunch of Hispanics and with it went the authenticity.

It’s pretty much a rule that to get the authentic taste of any nationality of food, it needs to be done by a native.

Such is the case here. While the Italian family used high quality ingredients and made sure the proportions were correct, the new people that make the pies use cheaper ingredients that aren’t as good and just throw the pies together and it shows in the taste.

Too little sauce, too much cheap mozzarella, too thin of a crust so the pies end up so greasy it leaks through the box. Even worse if you try to get a pepperoni pie which took the biggest hit as instead of using good pepperoni, they use something like you’d find in a Lunchables box.

Sad to see an establishment that our family had loved for over 40 years become as much of a let down as it did.

Three stars because despite all this, it’s still better than most places around here. But if you want good and more authentic pizza, your best bets would be Johnny Napkins in Union, Eli’s in Elizabeth, or North End Pizzeria...

First time and will be the last... just got my food and it's horrible... the pasta was not drained so my sauce is like sink water... the meatballs are burnt and the pizza has no cheese because it's stuck to the top of the box....

I decided to add to my review after calling the place to tell them that my food arrived with issues and the lady on the phone was nasty... I was not asking for a refund or replacement I was just letting them know as a first time customer that my order was completely messed up. The lady was rude and nasty trying to tell me that there was no way there was an issue and just kept ranting... I never do these reviews so I do not know how to add pictures but anyone who wants to see this garbage they call food please reach out.... Definitely a place to go right by.. food looked like trash and the lady that works there...

Sad to say this place rips newcomers to the pizzeria off by giving overpriced price tags to their food. For clarification, my brothers would normally always go to this restaurant from time to time, I being a newcomer firs visited the place and ordered a couple slices for myself and my brothers. However, they surcharged me $11 for 6 slices, when they normally only charge $6 for 6 slices, or at a dollar each for simplicity. I was surprised at first, but paid nonetheless. Though when my brother went in the following week as a test, they gave him the slices for $6, knowing he normally goes there. Can not believe this place actually scams its customers, though it is more alarming how many other people they have surcharged. Bad service, bad customer service, and...
