La Cantera Restaurant — Restaurant in Elizabeth

First, they don't make chicken empanadas. Then we get a menu with limited options. They don't offer my favorite dish that I would normally get at a Colombian restaurant "pollo con championes". So then the waitress suggests that I get a different plate "pollo a la hawaiana". When I cut into my chicken I realize that they added cinnamon which I am HIGHLY allergic to and the waitress failed to mention the ingredient which is a common spice allergy. I then looked at the menu and the meal description did not contain cinnamon. So I traded plates with my husband who ordered a "bandeja paisa ", before I broke into hives. His food was cold and under seasoned. We love Colombian food and frequently eat at Colombian restaurants and I mean it was just not a good day. It's not over yet through, we get through this meal and the waiters brings us the wrong check ... I mean ..... The whole situation was just a laugh. I do not recommend it if your are looking for good service, cooked food or the right steak. We arrived and it took for ever to place our order. Once we did the table next to us who arrived after us were served first. My husband ordered a churrasco but was served another cut of meat. I ordered the baked salmon. It was not cooked all the way thru. Since the server did not at any moment checked on us. When she came to take the empty plate I requested for the salmon to be removed from our bill since it was not eatable. Server asked if I wanted another! A. Why would I want more half cooked food B. My companion had eaten his meal. I asked the server to charge me for what I did eat which was the side. To my dismay they did charge me for the sides. Please see pic of raw / potential food...

My family and I arrived as a group of 10. The service was midgrade. We were seated quickly but then they took a while to take our order. After we ordered the food was delivered promptly and the quality and taste of the food was 5 stars. We basically ordered one of everything from the menu and everything was delicious and presentable. After we ate it took a long time to receive our bill, we could see the waitresses flirting with other guests while we waited to be attended. Overall 4 stars for prompt food service and quality of food but I wouldn't recommend going here with a large group, seemed like they were annoyed from the beginning, most of us felt...
