I was pleasantly surprised to receive a coupon via email for a free large pizza for my birthday; however, all that changed when I tried to redeem it. I initially tried to call a different location that was closer so I could have it delivered, but was told I needed to redeem at the Elizabeth location. When I called to order, the girl that answered seemed confused at my request. Once my order was confirmed she asked for delivery or pick-up. As I wasn't sure I asked if they would deliver in my town. She wasn't sure (said No/Yes/Maybe/I don't know in the same breath) so she asked someone else there. When asked what street, I gave my street name and she said 'what' twice, then I hear her say "east something street". Once confirmed that No they do not deliver to my town, she proceeded to speak over me to tell me to call the other location. Even though I tried to state the other location already confirmed I needed to call the Elizabeth spot, she repeated the phone number for the other location then she transferred me to some guy that also proceeded to speak over me to give me the phone number as I tried to repeat myself that it was not an issue for me to pick it up, I was just asking if they delivered to my town. Then he told me I needed to put my order in online. When I tried to inform him that I had already attempted several times he said to try again. I kept having to struggle to get a word in b/c they sounded like they just wanted to get rid of me and hang up, and I was just trying to tell them that the site instructed me to call the store directly. He said he didn't have anything to do with the online portion but then put me on hold and then asked me for the coupon number. Every part of this whole conversation conveyed that these people didn't care and didn't want to deal with me or the offer. I could have potentially ordered additional items but decided against it after my call was handled so rudely. When I went to pick up the order, the place was dead and there were at least 5 people working in the back, the way they were rushing me off the phone made it seem like they were busy. They were lucky to get a "Thank you" out of me and not some choice words that were brewing in my head, but they surely didn't return any words of welcome. And how good did that free pizza taste, not very good at all. I will go back to ordering from my usual spots and avoid Michelino's in Elizabeth from here on out. The free pizza was...
Read moreA few years back my coworker introduced me to Michelinos. Their buffalo chicken pizza is amazing! My wife doesn’t like buffalo chicken but I told her this was different. She tried it and loved it, loved it so much we ditched our local pizzeria! One day my wife is picking up a pie a notices they have a “beef pepperoni” sign she called me and was excited. We don’t eat pork and most restaurants only offer pork or turkey finding beef is like a needle in a haystack. normally we have pizza once a week but now we had to have it twice because we gots to try this beef pepperoni. It did not disappoint it was delicious! Every time I come here there’s always parking, the cashier is always friendly and smiling whenever I call they are always polite. You don’t get parking, good customer service, fair prices and quality food all at once every often. Ok so on this particular Sunday we decided to try their cheesesteak and a beef pepperoni pie. Did I mention I live in middlesex county and I drive to union county that’s how amazing it is. Well I call in my order and John takes my order me not realizing he’s the owner. Picked my order up when I got home I noticed my pie was plain. I called spoke to John this man made us a fresh pie and delivered it his self! He refused to let me comeback to get it and he refused my money! This about a 30-40 min ride round trip. This man is not about just making money he’s about quality and customer service. Oh and that cheesesteak...
Read moreIt was close to closing time (10 mins) which is why I called prior to arriving (I was on my way) and requested 2 slices. The female employee said please make sure you come soon we are closing soon 10:50. I arrived 4 minutes later, double parked because I assumed I'd be in and out. The door was locked even though it wasn't closing time yet, but that part I understand, I used to work retail in high school.
But the part that was extremely rude was that I was standing at the door for 5 mins and there was a group of men talking and laughing and the female employee was cleaning the counter. They all saw me waiting at the door and completely ignored me. At first i gave her the benefit of the doubt. Then I started knocking and 2 men made eye contact and the girl kept peaking at me through the corner of her eyes.... REALLY? I called prior to arriving and they said yes COME. To only IGNORE me standing and knocking. At least have the courtesy of "mouthing" "we are closed".
I am completely disappointed because I have been going there for a while and had recommended their pizza (NOT ANY MORE) Definitely lost a loyal customer and the sad thing is that I called and she said I should have knocked (I DID) while STARING at me drive away - so she knew...
