Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Elizabethtown

So disappointed! Posting so no one else makes the same mistake. I know restaurants differ from town to town, and my only experience is with the Slim Chickens in Elizabethtown, KY. I went with great expectations of a delicious dill pickle and chicken experience. It didn't happen. We started out with the fried pickles, which were brought out first before the rest of our meal and looked delicious. See picture below. They gave a generous portion, and the first few tasted really good! Then I started noticing how salty they were. The closer I got to the bottom of the basket, the more oily they were. Then I was having to blot each fried pickle chip with a paper towel, and the bottom layer of pickles were just swimming in oil. 🤮 Then we sat and waited for our Big Dill Chicken Sandwiches. And we sat. And sat. And I heard the table behind us say, "this is not what I ordered!" 🙄🤦‍♀️ Yep. They got our order. We had to tell the guy that was delivering the trays and he had to go have our sandwiches remade. I ordered extra pickles on mine (of course!) And hubby got bacon and cheese on his. The "replacement sandwiches" had neither. The Big Dill Chicken Sandwiches have Dill slices on the bottom and then fried pickle slices on top. The texture is WEIRD. The flavor of the chicken was blah and the bun had so much oil or butter or whatever, it kept sliding out of my hand. I ended up taking the sandwich apart, eating the pickle slices, the rest went in the garbage can. Don't waste your money. It has nothing on Chick-fil-A or PDQ, or anywhere else that I can think of. Heck, the KFC Chicken Littles were better than the Slim Chickens Big Dill Chicken...

Horrible experience. I ordered my food. Paid for my food. The issue began at the window. The young man said, move forward to the white line. No could you please. While I was placing my card back into my wallet and putting it in my pocket. He came back then demanded that I move forward. Understand it's raining hard out, no one behind me. Moving forward is a courtesy not a law. I then said give me a damn minute. He appeared shocked then started I'm young you're old act like an adult. If being young your excuse for being rude, perhaps you should find employment that fits your pathetic attitude. I was asked to purchase more items, I drove around and parked. I then went inside to do so. Another man perhaps a manage took my order. Then he first tried to explain what I ordered takes longer to cook. I then told him it's a courtesy,I understand they are on a timer like all fast food restaurants. But that isn't my problem. I explained what his employee said. He seemed understandable. I received my food it was a huge let down, everything was un eatable, the fired pickles and mushrooms were swimming in grease. This was my first time going there. It will surely be the last. Bad service and bad food. If this is their best I feel for those that think it's a good place to eat. It was a total waste of...

I have no comment about the atmosphere because we did drive through. This place is less than 5-10 min from my home, I feel like that's important since most our meals were soggy, a little would be understandable of course but not as much as our food was it's like they steamed it and put it in our bag, even the card board take out containers 2 of our meals were in were coming apart. We ordered the adult chicken tender meal (3 pieces is what I got), buffalo Mac bowl, and a kids tender meal comes with 2 tenders... I thought the food was very subpar for the price. My chicken tenders were about 2 inches if that and my kids tenders (only had 2 so no meal swap) were almost double. I could literally stack two of mine to get one of hers. All three meals were a soggy mess and what was edible tasted like it had been microwaved. It was a lot of wasted food for way to much money🤢. I understand they are still new and I am willing to change this IF we go back and it's different, but several friends who have been said the same. The only super great thing was the staff for me.Hopefully they get this straightened out. I did not call or go in to complain.
