I am so sad because it wasn’t a good experience. I was passing through the area and wanted to find a cool cafe to try. I went out of my way to go there. The place is so nice, quaint, and welcoming in atmosphere but the service was terrible. I ordered an iced latte with an extra shot of espresso which was $10 (then added tip). The woman who served me tried to give me a hot latte. I apologized if she thought I said hot and asked for an iced latte (like I ordered). Instead of remaking it she handed it to me with a cup of ice and said “same ingredients”, which in theory yes… but in reality it isn’t. Pouring hot frothed milk and espresso over ice made it a terrible watered down version of what I had ordered. Every single ice cube melted into the drink. Since I hate confrontation I thanked her and left without showing how upset I really was. So I guess it’s partially my own fault, but me being a new customer and already mentioning that I had planned to come back in the end of the month I think would they would be a little more eager to make it a good experience. It left a bad taste in my mouth, literally and figuratively. Excitedly waiting to order from a new cafe, then getting served an undrinkable latte at that price is a shame. Read moreWhat a charming place with a chill vibe! I half expected to see a campfire set up in the middle of the room. Wait! How cool would that be? A faux fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs in a circle where everyone just vibes inside?
That being said I was happy with the seating for 24, the view of the inlet, the creaky wooden floors and the antique store set up as you walk in.
The menu is low key, wraps, salads, bagel, breakfast sammies. Coffee and tea, slushies, it was all good. I purchased a ham and egg breakfast Sammie and a Chai tea latte with oatmilk. They don't brew their own Chai, but I don't really care, however an extra dash of cardmom.and ginger wouldn't hurt.
I highly recommend this place and will gladly make the 7 mile trip from home to visit...
Read moreDon't get me wrong, this place is cute. It would be a great spot to sit and chat with friends and the view out the windows of the river is beautiful.
However, given the reviews in was expecting a really high quality coffee. I'm not sure where they source their coffee, but it seems all to be Latin American beans with very light and fruity notes. Additionally, I ordered a mocha and there was hardly any mocha flavor (I think they're using generic grocery store chocolate syrup in small quantities) and the amount of espresso in the drink was little enough that it mainly tasted of a weak chocolate milk.
If you're a serious coffee connoisseur I would...
