The Quartermaster sounded great. The pork was so tough, what little there was of it. For a $15 sandwich I would think you'd get a good sized portion. The BBQ sauce was good, sweet baby Ray's I think? The staff was friendly and quick. The atmosphere fantastic. Two beers, two very small sandwiches and two bags of chips $55! Way too much. I'd love to pay that if the food was really good. Sorry but not great at all. I liked the brand of your logo on the brioche bun. I wanted to come to review for our vacation renters that we rent to ask summer. I didn't think I'll send them except maybe with a warning to not expect too much. Sad. I really wanted to like this place! Updated! I want to be fair. On our way out the door the bar tender asked how it was and we told her the truth. (She was delightful) She insisted on giving us our money back for our sandwiches. We agreed to come again and give it another try. Fair enough! Like I said the service was friendly, quick and I'll add extra attentive. Just what you want in your restaurant....

The DAM Shop is a pretty cool, family-friendly stop for food, drinks, shopping, and all your last-minute boating needs. Located next to the city boat ramp and a short walk to the city marina, this business model blends well in the 4,000 sq ft metal facility that includes a full-service espresso bar, food & beverage options (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), a retail store, full-service cocktail bar, restrooms, and marine pro shop. I love the food truck located INSIDE the restaurant, the outside seating/recreational area, and oh yeah, the mantra: Dam good coffee, DAM Good Food, DAM Good Views. Looking forward to stopping back at The Dam Shop...

Chicken (Elk Rapids Hot and tenders) were both very good; heat level is low on the sandwich. Fries were also very good; shoestring and crispy. Marked four stars due to being disappointed in the serving size for the tenders. One of them was extremely small (more like 3 1/2 tenders; picture included (note one was already eaten; half tender was kind of hidden in the presentation). Be prepared for a work-a-rant….order your food at the bar and pick up at the window. Outdoor seating was nice; appreciated the adjustable umbrellas.
