Gessert's Ice Cream and Confectionery — Restaurant in Elkhart Lake

This place is such a time capsule that you wouldn’t be surprised to hear F.D.R. giving a fireside chat over the radio. We walked in, and immediately heard the swooning crooning of Artie Shaw and his band playing Begin the Beguine. Oh, how the clarinet makes me crave some delicious Wisconsin dairy! You’d think they had a cow out back, the ice cream is so fresh. We came in with a large group, and were impressed by how swiftly we were served. All members of our party enjoyed their frozen delicacies. The butter pecan & blue moon was of special note. Thank you for preserving Wisconsin’s dairy heritage and showing the next generation what the soda fountain age...

The family stayed for a few days in Elkhart - exploring Wisconsin. We stopped in at Gessert's and I have to say, this place was top notch. Everyone behind the counter was friendly, the place was clean and most important - the ice cream and fudge were on point.

My entire family sat at the counter, which felt like we were going back in time. This place invites you to take a minute, enjoy the ice cream and the people you are with - Gesserts absolutely stands out in a world of fast food and drive through lanes.

Fun little ice cream shop for a quick dessert stop! Great tourist stop as they have a little room in the back with old ice cream shop collectibles which gives the place a lot of charm. Ice cream is delicious but the service was just okay, we went later in the evening and no one was working the counter upon entering and then we got questioned on the amount of ice cream we were ordering when asked to get a sundae to-go. We may stop back next time we are in town and give the service...
