We were very excited to visit this new restaurant of Harry's and it did not disappoint. Harry's Pizza e Vino restaurant's space is smaller than the space at Harry's Prohibition Bistro in Sheboygan, so getting there earlier is a good idea since they don't take reservations. While the dining area was tight due to the smaller space, it wasn't uncomfortable or felt crowded, rather it felt cozy. After being seated and ordering, we started with a bread and pesto appetizer, which was very enjoyable. The amount of pesto was very generous for the amount of bread which was lovely because then we had extra pesto for the crusts of our pizzas. As for the pizzas, they were very very good. While we had heard that the pizza was supposed to be of a different style than Prohibition Bistro, we found them to be comparable with no major notable differences. However, that does not take away how good the food was. While there were several of the same styles/toppings as Prohibition Bistro, Pizza e Vino had some unique ones. We had the "Lemon" pizza, which was a nice and light, easy eating pizza. A perfect summer pizza. We also had the "Truffle" pizza, which was a mushroom lover's delight. The mushroom flavours were very pronounced and the truffle tastes that followed were a perfect complement. While Harry's Pizza e Vino is another wonderful restaurant with outstanding food, it was comparable enough to Harry's Prohibition Bistro that there's not really a major difference between the two of them that would necessitate a need to try them both. Both still serve amazing pizzas so you'd have a great time...
Β Β Β Read moreThis was our first time to Elkart Lake - what a charming town! Harry's Pizza e Vino was hopping that Saturday night, but thankfully we were able to find seats and eat at the bar.
I started with their Mediterranean Salad, which was simple and light and served with freshly baked bread. Then our pizzas came. My hubby and I normally would've shared (pizza size is enough for 2 middle-age adults watching their waistlines to share) π but we had our teen adult with us, so we knew he would eat any leftovers.
I had the truffle pizza, my husband had the peppadew (minus prosciutto since he's vegetarian), and my son had the veggie pizza. Don't mind the pics, we had already started cutting and taking pieces from each other, since we wanted to try them all. βΊοΈ It's hard to say which one I liked best, because they were all great! I think the peppadew was my fave, though, with the others coming in for a close tied second. π We finished with their cherry gelato - no pic, bc we snarfed them down before I remembered to take a snap π π§ If you haven't been here, it's a must go - we will...
Β Β Β Read moreThe name embodies what this place is all about. Fresh Roman-style pizzas, a reasonable selection of wines by the glass or bottle and a bit more. In addition to a full bar, there's roughly 20 or so bourbon selections to choose from as well. Atmosphere is somewhat low-key and relaxing, yet cozy and inviting. All of the staff during our visit were friendly, engaging, and helpful, making for a pleasurable visit. A special thanks to Alyssa for serving us through our enjoyable dinner. Seating is somewhat limited and reservations are NOT accepted. The dining area arrangement favors parties of four or less. Larger groups are bit more challenging to seat, with groups more than six likely requiring a split table seating arrangement. Food is served at the bar as well. This establishment has a family connection to the other Harry's Diner and Harry's Bistro in Sheboygan, which also receive my recommendation. If you're in the area, this is a great place to meet a few friends over a couple pies and great...
