ELLI MOCHI DONUT — Restaurant in Ellicott City

Elli Mochi in Ellicott City brings a unique twist to the dessert scene with its chewy, bouncy mochi donuts, definitely a fun novelty to try. But at their price point, they feel more like a splurge than a regular treat.

The corn dogs, while tasty, were filled with a molten lava center of mozzarella – a bit much even for a cheese lover like me. A more controlled cheese distribution would be a welcome improvement.

But what truly deflated my experience was the slow and inattentive service. I waited 15 minutes for a corn dog, only to be told (after minimal communication) that they didn't have potatoes ready and had to chop a new batch. This, despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't even busy at the time. A little proactive interaction and transparency would have gone a long way in easing the frustration.

So, Elli Mochi has potential. The mochi donuts are fun, the corn dogs (minus the cheese overload) are tasty, and the location is convenient. But to truly win me over, they need to address the pricey donuts, excessive cheese, and most importantly, their customer engagement. A sprinkle of warmth, communication, and efficiency would do wonders in creating a more welcoming atmosphere. Then, Elli Mochi could become a regular stop on my Ellicott City...

This place Is absolutely wonderful, and I’ve had the best experience ever/both food and customer lol. They allowed me to order ahead over the phone since their website was down (I had a big order for my workplace) and they made no mistakes; were super generous with sauces that I requested, and allowed us to order a few extra things in store without feeling rushed or bothersome. The staff is always super friendly and greeting, as well as accommodating. I ordered two boxes worth of their Korean corn dogs with mozzarella only and the quality is absolutely stellar, I also had a special request for a coworker who wanted minimal sugar on their corn dog and they honored that AND made sure to label the box with it in it so we knew which one it was. Not to mention the donuts are savory and keep you wanting more. They have gotten my business three times now and will continue to get my business in the future as well. I hope the staff is having a great day, and I hope both sides of their pillow are nice and cool when the sleep and they get green lights...

Ive been going to this location for some time and im always pleased with the service I receive.

The mochi donuts here are always fresh and delicious. Every time I come to this location, they have 1 or 2 different flavors I didn’t see the last time.

Even if you cant finish them all and you decide to refrigerate them, they are still good for 2-3 days later. The only things that might not refrigerate well are some of the toppings like cookies and cereal.

I finally decided to try a corndog ( mine only had cheese filling ) it was made to order and very yummy. I recommend eating the corndog when you get it and not trying to save it for later or even take it home if you live far because the moisture will cause the crispy bits to soften.

The atmosphere inside is always nice, restrooms are clean. I only wish they had a larger area for guest to sit and eat.
