Whenever I'm in Elmwood Park or this area and needed some good bagels or a quick meal, I know where to go to: Bagels on Broadway! A handful of bagel flavors, spreads & meats, and plenty more under one roof, whether you stop by at the wee hours of the morning, or a lunch. It's not too hard to spot, it's a block away from the NJ Transit Broadway - Fair Lawn train station (if I'm there, odds are I'll be here to get a quick meal!), and next to the local Firestone Shop & Conoco gas station. There's plenty of seating inside, from tables to window-still chairs, and rarely you'll find this place at 100% capacity. If you dine in here and order non-bagel items, the workers would do table service to you. There's also local delivery done, in case if you want that to be done, which your experience may differ.
Their menu is pretty much identical to other bagel shops in this area: a handful of bagel & flagel (flat bagels) flavors, from plain & egg, to blueberry, salt, everything (mix of pumpernickel/sesame seed/garlic), and garlic, to name a few. Other things include: breakfast platters such as omlettes, eggs & meat (sausage/taylor ham/bacon), which both come with toast & hash browns. Next up would be their pancakes & French Toast, which seem standard. After that, there's wraps (chicken based only), salads (a mix of chicken, Cobb Salad, eggs, vegetables only, and cheese). They also sell fish & meats by the pound if you want that. Don't count out the classic sandwiches that can be whipped up here, such as: BLT, cheesesteaks, ham/turkey/salami, those are sold on rolls or bagels. Last is their selection of pastries, such as muffins, crumb cake, fresh baked cookies, while having pre-packaged cookies (Black & White comes to mind, and holiday cookies). For drinks, there's a wide selection of things such as coffee, sodas (done by Coca-Cola, so things like Sprite comes to mind), bottled teas, Snapple, and Baí water. Pricing is pretty affordable, and at most you won't spend an arm and a leg for some breakfast. Also, if you're interested, they also do custom order for fresh baked bagels, pastries, and flagels, which takes half an hour for an order of 6 or 12.
To me, Bagels on Broadway offers some reputable bagels & quick eats while on the move, and if you're dining in, their sandwiches and pancakes did curb some hunger I've had! Wish I could have more time to explore the options here, but either way, I'm not disappointed in the slightest. My favorite bagel options here are a plain/classic, or a blueberry. Pair it off with a coffee or fresh smoothie, and you have a happy Jeff!
To end this, if you're on the hunt for a good bagel shop or a breakfast place in the area, you should consider Bagels on Broadway! Fresh meats, warm bagels (when fresh made), good breakfast items, and a receptive staff. Nothing critical to ruin my future time...
Read moreThe food here is ok it’s not bad nor is it good. They always lack cheese when I order egg n cheese but whatever. I give it a one star review because of the dirtiness of this place. Everytime I go in to get food and want to sit all the tables are all dirty and never cleaned up after. And yesterday when I went and sat by the window there was so many ants walking all over the tabletops. Maybe because they have PLANTS on the table like what. I was very disgusted and an ant even went into my plate and I couldn’t stand another second in there. Owner also replied to my review saying I’m a bad reviewer when that’s not true at all I’m a very well-known reviewer and have good ratings because I tell the truth he never admitted about the ants situation though, everyone is more than welcome to go and look for yourself since he said I’m “banned” for leaving a bad review. Will be submitting a report to the Department of Health so they can investigate. I also was going to leave this out, but when I saw other peoples review about this store, why not mention it but the employees there which are two girls and a guy are very mad looking and always angry for what reason...
Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews on small businesses but after 3x of being here, each time having an awful experience, I am done. I went because its the closest but not wasting my time or money here any longer. Each time they got my order incorrect even though I was standing right there telling them what I wanted. The food wasn't fresh either..I couldn't finish it the first time. Today I went for the final time. I ordered 2 very simple sandwiches that most people were getting. They kept making the sandwiches and giving it to the people who ordered after me. After 20 minutes I complained and they said they were working on it while staring at the tickets and trying to understand which was first or 2nd or whatever. Then they put the wrong sandwiches in my bag. And mixed up 3 orders. These workers have no idea what they're doing. Completely unorganized and WAY over priced. They stay in business because of the location. Otherwise they'd shut down anywhere else. Take the extra 5 minute drive and go elsewhere. So many better spots around town.
Oh and the owner will likely see this, have an immature response and not care to address it with his staff. A bunch...
