Last night was our first dine-out dinner since c-19. Made a rez online for 7:30p. They have free valet, so you pull up curbside and walk right in. Nice. We were greeted immediately by the hostess and given a choice of two different spaced apart tables. Also very nice. Tables are setup distanced apart on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. The front doors are kept open and provides an ambient glow and peek at the tasteful decor. Guests are seated at outside tables which are actually their high-end indoor wood tables and comfortable cushioned chairs, covered in white linens under a white tent with fans. There are boxwood planters with lanterns lining the street which creates a cozy (while distanced) atmosphere under the tent. Within minutes of our arrival, we were greeted with warm bread and oil and then by our server, Katerina. And although you could not see part of her face under her mask, we felt she was smiling and welcoming from her eyes and her greeting. She shared the daily specials and gave us dinner menus which had a good selection of appetizers, salads, fish (of course) and meats. And a separate cocktail and wine menu. We ordered a few cocktails, all very good and the grilled octopus (excellent!) to start. Our party had both sparkling & tap water and wine with dinner, all were replenished regularly, without request, throughout our meal. We ordered grilled salmon (delicious), lamb chops med-rare, (perfect) and the soft shell crabs (excellent!). All came with either roasted potatoes or spinach-rice, but you could sub whichever you’d prefer. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Timed well and without feeling rushed. Plates were cleared promptly and new utensils were replaced. The owner, also very pleasant, made his way around to check on everyone and thank us for coming. I wish we weren’t full (well, we did enjoy the delicious complementary almond cookies, nice touch!) because the dessert menu looked very tempting too. I will mention there is noise from the street because, well you are seated outside by the street. But due to the pandemic situation, that’s not something they can change. They obviously try very hard to create an inviting atmosphere with Greek music playing and something tasty always in-hand to eat or drink, so our party was thrilled to be dining out, enjoying good food, drink and conversation. Overall, a wonderful night out was had by all. We will definitely return and would highly recommend. Support LOCAL & enjoy! OPA!
Note: Wherever you decide to dine, please tip generously to all, including valet. Please show we appreciate all who are doing their best, wearing a mask, running frequently from the back of the house to the street, and behind the scenes to provide good service and are obviously working very hard. Thanks for...
Read moreThe experience started off well from the moment we walked in, and they had a sat us promptly because we had made a reservation. We ordered appetizers and drinks, and they came out at a great pace. The reason I’m giving this place a one star review is because after we had finished eating our appetizers our party of five noticed that there was a live insect on the table. Giving this establishment the benefit of the doubt I checked to see if the table cloths touched the ground which they did not. This means the bug either came out of the kitchen with the appetizers, or it fell from the ceiling. One of the other servers noticed that we had captured the bug under a glass. He came and took the bug away, and then we never heard about it again. No managers came up to apologize for the the bug, no one addressed it, no discounts or accommodations were given by anyone. I saw the server go up to who I believe was the manager, and he told him about the bug yet nothing was done. When going to pay our bill, it took our server over 20 minutes to run our credit card and bring it back. The manager was informed about the credit card delay and rather than apologize for the delay. He lied and said that the Internet was down. If the Internet was down don’t you think he would’ve addressed it before they had kept us to waiting 20 minutes?! I see several good reviews for this establishment. I had also heard very good things about it but after this horrible experience, and the lack of ownership, I will never ever recommend this place to anyone, and I myself will not be returning to this establishment. The only other thing I’ll say is that their menu seems to be over priced and the portions are smaller than you...
Read moreImpeccable food! Every bite was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere and ambiance of the place is spectacular and quite intimate. Service was good as well. We made reservations for 7pm dinner for two; once arrived not only was the valet completely backed up (they need more than one person supervising and managing these cars on a very busy street), but our table wasn't ready. We were asked to wait at the bar, while clearly no open spots were available at the bar. No proper way of approaching the bartender either without invading someone's personal space while they're enjoying an expensive dinner. Bartender ended up coming over and grabbing us a couple of drinks as my partner and I had no other choice but to awkwardly stand, two drinks in hand, next to staff work station/ restrooms while we waited for our table. We ended up getting sat a little after 7:30pm, at a wobbly table right next to the entrance/exit/host desk. It was probably the least desirable seat in the entire restaurant. Our appetizer and dinner promptly made its way out to our table, but we did notice tables (which were sat down before us) wait a long time for dinner plates to come out. As we were asking for the check, those tables were just receiving their dinner plates. As someone that works in this industry, I find that unacceptable. Although beverages and food were 5+; their management needs a more consistent and efficient system to ensure that The customer isn't doing the valet's job 2. The customer isn't left standing next to the restrooms while waiting for a table which was reserved weeks in advance 3. Food comes...
