Dale's Market & Deli — Restaurant in Elyria

This is a place I frequent when I do laundry next door. Today while browsing I noticed a handful of items that were expired as far back as 2022. All the salad dressings were expired, several of the canned goods- over 20 items that I noticed just while browsing.

I informed the older, male cashier and he said that it was out of his hands and he’s just responsible for the chicken most days.

I think a health inspection should probably be done if this is the attitude that the establishment has when presented with food safety concerns. If you can’t remove expired inventory from the shelves- how can anyone trust that you’ll be following proper food handling processes when making fresh ready to eat foods?

Wish I had taken photos before leaving, but I expected the cashier to handle it instead of saying it was out...

I called ahead to find out if they had any lunch specials with chicken tenders and jojos was told no I don't so I ordered 15 pieces with two separate orders of JoJo's that cost me more than $20 was then told at time of picking up sauces did not come with it and paid another $2 to find out that they do have a lunch special with tenders and jojos that they advertised quite boldly the person I spoke to on the phone when ordering and when picking up very rude and nasty...

Terrible musty place, expired EVERYTHING, prices are horrendous and workers are beyond incompetent, called to ask a simple question any shop who calls themselves a “smoke shop” should know and was met with confusion then when I asked a follow up question i got hung up on instead of being told “oh I’m sorry none of us here even know what we’re selling.” Save your time, money, and patience for another place.
