Called in an order and when I got there it was ready. Sitting next to the hostess area. Waitress walked by several times and finally asked if I needed anything. I told her that I had a carry out and pointed to the bag with my order. She said she didn’t know where the hostess disappeared to, but dhe would be back in a second. When she got back to me she rang up my order wrong and didn’t seem to know how to fix it. When and found the hostess (???) and after swiping the ‘ white cards’ 4 times they finally got it right Got home and discovered and discovered that they had gave me an order of fried pickles, instead of mushrooms. When I called and told her what had happened and suggested she advise the cook the difference between pickles and mushrooms. She then told me to settle down and not to ‘cop an attitude’. I never cursed her or raised my voice as she thinks I did. I was a drill instructor and if I’d raised my voice, she would have known it. I bought a country fried fish sandwich platter with fries and a salad with "smitty's sauce" on it and for my drink, hot tea with lemon and honey. Ok so here goes my review..."smitty's sauce" is just mayo mixed with probably a little lemon juice to add a twangy flavor and the "salad" was just shredded lettuce. The fish was exceptional with just the right amount of crunch and not at all greasy, I don't know if the tartar sauce was homemade but it was a good pairing with the fish as always. Fries, the fries were just some regular crinkle cut fries that I could have made at home but I didn't so I cant complain. You cannot mess up hot tea with lemon and honey at all...unless they don't have honey at all and you have to purchase an $8.00 bottle of locally sourced honey from them just to have honey for your tea. Wish I would have taken pics to include. Wife got the Smitty burger platter with Smitty salad. I always order the same Prime Burger but ask for it to be made like a Smitty. I order the onion rings as the side. First off, I love the thicker patty that gives a little more beef flavor, but then they dredge it in that delicious Smitty sauce! Prepare the camera because the face will be a mess! Don't you dare waste that sauce in a napkin though, keep trying the tongue! Then resort to fingers smearing back into your mouth. Don't worry, nobody at this place will judge... they have all done the same! Environment is very clean, with a separate bar area & they treat you like a regular! Don't be surprised of you see someone you know. Forgot about the onion rings! Some of the best out there! Full onion ring dunked in batter then deep fried.
