Ripleigh's Creamery — Restaurant in Emmitsburg

Found this place on a roadtrip going back home. We checked out their website to see what flavors they got. Impressed by the offerings so we stopped by. You can’t miss the place, the ice cream truck was by the roadside. You pull in the ample parking lot. There’s a place to sit down and enjoy your ice cream or you can eat in your parked car. It was the weekend and the weather was nice so there were a lot of people, wanting ice cream. But one of the huge disappointments was they don’t really have the “out there” flavors they touted on their website. Every flavor we wanted to try wasn’t available. What’s up with that? If it’s not in your physical store, please take it out of your website. A staff said that the other branches might have them but not that location. If that’s the case, Emmitsburg needs to have its own website to tell folks which flavors they really have in their location. Anyway, we bought their ice cream with flavors we settled for as substitutes: Oreo cheesecake, Brownie Butter Chunk, Lemon Lavender. We took them to go since it was crowded and the parking was getting packed. Drove to a nearby park to enjoy our ice cream but alas, the second huge disappointment came in: the ice cream was TOO SWEET. We, adults, couldn’t even get through the half of ours, we had to throw the rest away. To our kid’s credit, he powered through his brownie ice cream like a champ. But kids don’t mind too sweet of anything. Glad we only got one scoop for each flavor and at least, one flavor didn’t go to waste. But this ice cream place...

I approached them about creating custom ice cream flavors for my wedding (a crazy request, right?) and they accepted! Over the course of our planning, they not only created two custom ice cream flavors for my husband and I to serve at our wedding but their design team created custom labels with adorable flavor names. This was, hands down, the highlight of our wedding! People could not stop talking about how unique the idea was and how delicious the end products were! They were also served in individual containers which ensured sanitation and limited waste. I am beyond confident in their ability to knock any idea out of the park and highly recommend them for simple ice cream outings as well as larger events. I will forever support this business and...

Ok so many times i have loved the ice cream and the service. 5 stars. My experience today was the worst and i may never go back. I ordered 1 scoop in a cup for my wife (lemon blueberry cheescake) and a 3 scoops cup for myself. (Madagascar, sunscreen, and key lime) Boy tells me they are out of Madagascar so i switch it to L,B,Cheesecake. Wife single scoop cup was 1/3 bigger than my 3 scoop cup???? So i asked him why, he says because mine had 3 flavors.... So $17.50 plus $2.50 tip for what amounted to total 1 2/3 scoop of ice cream between the 2 of us WTH!!! Very dissatisfied...
