Bourbon Cowboy — Restaurant in Emporia

So I was in town for the bike race, and had just left McGrudy's (do not recommend), So I checked out this place, and it was actually really decent, met the owners outside they were super friendly and actually the nicest bar owners I've ever met. Unfortunately it was the deadest night of the year which I was told the opposite it was going to be busy, but the bartenders were all super chill super nice the atmosphere was pretty standard for karaoke night. But I can see this bar being a really chill spot to go on the weekends to socialize and have a beer or something. Mad respect to the owners for having mixed age crowd, I know that can be super sketchy sometimes. DJ probably needs a little help though keeping the mood going at times there was some really slow songs that maybe didn't fit the mood, atmosphere, and you always just got to remember requests are just that requests, don't have to honor them if it's going to mess up the mood You got to have a rhythm and a flow and you got to...

The one bartender never came back to check on us. The only way we got drinks was to walk up to the bar and get them ourselves. The place had a total of 12 customers there when we were there. They advertised a band at 8 and that never happened. That was on Saturday night and they finally respond Monday that there was a mistake in the time on the poster and the band started at 10. The place has no character. If you want to sit and drink quietly by yourself this is the place because no one including the bartender...

I do not like bars. Just not my scene...and I don't particularly like country music...but I got brought here as part of a company gathering...and was blown away.

This place is intimate and open at the same time. The dark walls and low ceiling make it feel cozy, but the lights are really what gives it that glitzy vibe. The back area has a high ceiling, and feels large. The open layout makes the whole bar feel connected and accessible.
