Foodies — Restaurant in Englishtown

So this was my first time eating at this restaurant. A friend recommended that go there for lunch. He did he had visited several times before with his wife and the meals were excellent. It was formerly known as Luchento's under a previous owner. I had the Greek cheese burger and he had the Mexican style cheese burger. Both were excellent and perfectly cooked. The French fries were chunky and crispy. Service was quick and friendly and the food was on the table within 10 to 15 minutes. Prices were fair and reasonable. There are not a lot of tables but I believe the dining area can seat about 30 people. I would definitely like to try other dishes and will be back. What can I say. This place is great! In an area filled with big chain restaurants and the local “everything is better in Brooklyn” mentality, it’s nice to see a local diner turn up and succeed in a tough market. I wish there were more places like this. If my boss and my wallet would let me, I’d eat here everyday but my wallet is light and my boss has no sense of humor so I can’t. I once told him a joke and he just sat there and looked at me with a blank stare. I asked him if he heard what I said and it turned out he sleeps with his eyes open. Who knew? We've been loyal customers at Foodies for a while, and usually enjoy bringing our family in for Sunday lunches. However, our recent visit was disappointing due to the service we received from Cristina. When we sat down, she came by briefly and said she’d be right back—but then disappeared for about 10 minutes. We saw her behind the counter scrolling through her phone and casually walking around the restaurant, which wasn’t even busy that day. It felt dismissive and unprofessional.
