I went for lunch today, when I found the place I was hesitant about going in. It doesn't have the best curb appeal. You don't order at the front of the business, but toward the back, not your typical setup. While looking at the menu, the owner was walking by and asked if it's our first time, it was. He made some recommendations for us. I asked about a health department rating, and he took the time to explain the process that happens in FL, it's not the same as what I'm used to. He wasn't offended at all and offered up his latest inspection review with no violations listed. He was happy about that, and I was too. We had Ty's street tacos with seasoned fries and Ty's best of both worlds (ribs, sweet and spicy chicken wings and fried okra). The food was excellent! But I need to bring special attention to the okra and fries. Both were seasoned very well. And the fried okra was the BEST I've ever had. The owner gave us a taste of his lemon pound cake, it was great too. And the people, I can't say enough about how nice they all were, you don't get that from the big restaurants. Don't let the curb appeal keep you from going in, the food was excellent, and so was the service. And the fried okra... wow, it was the best! Would I go back- YES. Would I...
Read moreMy husband and I discovered this place recently and it has everything we could ever want from a restaurant. Everyone is friendly and makes you feel welcomed. The environment is clean. And the food is the best food we have ever had. My husband said this is exactly the kind of place he has been looking for. Good southern food with variety. The wings are the best my husband has had especially with all of the different flavor options. The ribs are incredible as well as the fried chicken. The fire shrimp is also perfect and if a place has good shrimp you've got my husband for life. Not to mention everything is cooked perfectly. The wings aren't drenched nor are the ribs if you decide to get sauce on either one. The fried chicken is seasoned great and the fried shrimp is just perfect. And that's just the entrees. The sides are great as well but the one side that stands out are the fries. The flavor and seasonings they use are incredible. We cant recommend Family Ty's "Good Eats" enough. Everyone seems so genuine and are CONSTANTLY checking on everyone to make sure they're taken care of. This is the type of establishment we need more of and we are grateful. Everything is...
Read moreHubby and I came here for the 1st time today. We are visiting from Detroit. This place was recommended by our cousins who was here the day before. We were told that the food was fantastic. The seafood rice, grilled shrimp, fried okra, and the lemonade were the items that we were told to try. My cousin told us to tell Ms. Debra and Mr. Ty that she sent us over there. Mr. Ty allowed me to sample the seafood rice. That rice was crazy good. I gave some to my husband to try. He liked it so much, he bought a separate side of it. In addition, we both ordered the best of both worlds dinner. He got wings, ribs, cabbage, mac and cheese, and cornbread. I had wings, ribs, potato salad, and seafood rice. The meats were well seasoned. I thought while the potato salad had good flavor, it was a little too sweet for me. Hubby was supposed to get an extra piece of cornbread, but did not receive it. He also ordered his wings plain. When he got them, they had garlic parm seasoning on them. He said they were good though. The customer service was amazing. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Hope we get a chance to visit again before we leave. If not, we will be back the next time we...
