All I can say is wow! This was the worst place I have ever been! I go to restaurants quite often and I'm an avid traveler so I've eaten all over. And this is by far the worst I've ever been to! The outside decor was nice as well as the inside and the waitresses were nice but that's as far as it goes. The food was completely dry but that's not even the worst part. The whole restaurant was lively this afternoon and every table seemed to be having a good time. The group at the table next to us were talking and engaged in a good conversation. The waitress came out with her tray full of food and began to go around the table. The manager of the restaurant was walking by at the time and stopped at their table and at the top of her lungs basically told them to shut up so the waitress could pass out their food. The entire restaurant fell silent! Literally you could have heard a pen drop! It stayed that way for several minutes until a gentleman spoke up that was not even at their table and said how wrong it was. The restaurant stayed pretty much silent the rest of our meal. It's a real shame for the employees of this restaurant to have to deal with this lady if she treats a large group of customers this way! I will never return this place in my lifetime! Thank you but...
Read moreI am so confused by today's events but I will try to properly convey what I experienced here. We walked into Larry's bbq, sat down, all seemed normal. There was one waiter rushing back and forth then I realize there is a table of four woman who work there and are eating. What makes it worse is that we are getting to experience them fussing over shift changes or whatever I tired to eat my meal in peace.
Here is were I get confused. Two women walk in with long sweaters on that just cover there.... well you get the picture. One lifts her arm up to get soup and she is not wearing anything underneath. Also she works there....... Are you confused as I yet? I know they work there because they get food and walk in the back to talk to the cook then they walk out and talk to the waiters who act like all is normal. All I can think of is how unsanitary these benches are as of now.
Well now that that's out of the way we can move onto the food. Just okay nothing spectacular. It's Larry's bbq if you know anything about the place it has never had standards. The only waiter out of 6 working today was very nice and apologetic. The cashier however was ready for us to leave with the another two workers standing behind her chatting. That's all I can...
Read moreIf you are remotely in the area, it is IMPERATIVE that you visit this establishment. I have been all around the country and have had good BBQ, from the brisket in Texas, to the ribs in Kansas City, to the pulled pork from the volunteer firefighters in north Carolina. I love good smoked meats. Honestly, it's hard to come by GOOD smoked meat. I had the ribs, beef, and pork, it was great. You don't even need sauce for the ribs. The beef is top round, which is about the only thing I would change is to replace it with brisket, BUT it had a really nice smoke ring and good flavor. It's a little dry, but it's top round, that's the main reason we use brisket, the fat cap keeps everything moist with delicious fat. The okra and Cole slaw are good.
You get an unbelievable amount of food for the price. Most places would charge the same price for half the food and the quality wouldn't be there either.
The service was extremely good, also. I never had to ask for a refill and got a to go cup without asking either. Southern hospitality at its finest. Very well done. I rarely...
