We've been going to Si Senor for years, I can't even count how many hundreds of times we have visited it. I am sorry to say that the quality has progressively gone down, as the prices have significantly increased, but we liked supporting local business and the green chili is really good. We were celebrating my mother's birthday, she had specifically requested Si Senor so we ordered delivery through them, and were promised a little over half an hour. An hour after the promised delivery time my cameras pick up that there is someone on the porch, after the driver had waited 20 minutes, I walk out to three bags soaking in sauce and the boxes completely collapsed on each other. As I start to unpack the food I can't really make heads or tails of what has happened, it honestly looks like the food was juggled. Everything was like it has been turned on its side and the food was just piles of mess. The food has taken so long that the tacos had disintegrated, they had givens us four green chili containers instead of the dip sampler we ordered, they made the wrong chimichanga...everything had some sort of problem. I called the restaurant and explained what had happened. The associate that answered said it wasn't their fault if the driver made a mistake. I explained again that it wasn't only the state of the food, which was still their responsibility, but the fact that three of the orders had significant problems. Once again I was told that it wasn't their fault if a driver made a mistake. I yet again explained that it would be impossible for the driver to put the wrong ingredients in the order and that even though state of the food was an issue, I was more concerned about the errors. At this point she asked what I wanted for resolution, I said I wanted a refund, I was informed that would be impossible. I told her that really wasn't acceptable and asked that she put the manager on. The phone was then transferred to a male with less than cordial manners. I explained again what had happened, and we were back into the second round of this circle. At that point I just tell him that I will make the four block drive to show him the pictures of what I am talking about. I get there and there is a man sitting at the front, he informs me he is the owner and who I had been talking to. I again start trying to go over what is going on, to which he stands up and yell at me to stop yelling at him. I tell him that I am not yelling that it's my normal voice (I wasn't yelling, I'm a teacher and just have a loud voice). I try to show him the photos at which he tries to grab my phone out of my hand. I tell him he needs to take his hands of my property and me at which point he sits back down. I place the phone on the counter and try to scroll through what had been delivered, and not been delivered. He refused to look down, and just stared me down. He then informs me that he already knows what went wrong, admitting fault, I'm like "great, what happened, and can we come to a resolution." At which point he aggressively steps at me and tells me no, that I don't want to hear it, and that I "don't come in his house and tell him what to do." Flabbergasted, I actually asked, "did you realize that you just physically threatened me by your actions, is that what you intended to do?" I think he did realize what he did because he sat down, and said the only resolution would be for me to drive back to my house, collect all the containers, and then bring them back to the restaurant. Completely floored I told him that would be impossible, that what was going to happen was that I would dispute the charge, and that I would make sure to let people know how he truly feels about loyal customers. He literally told me he didn't care. I couldn't believe that some dips and a few mistakes on an order had turned into this. If this owner does this to a loyal customer...I can't fathom what his priorities are. I truly believe in supporting local businesses, but only those that actually care about...
Read moreThe food is OK but there is nothing spectacular or even above ordinary to write about. We ordered the queso for appetizer and it was flavorful but also in a small dish about the size of a Cream Brulle, just a little deeper. Not what you would expect at a Mexican style restaurant. Should be a bowl.
The enchilada meal was OK, but again nothing spectacular. Fajita meat was very bland and had no flavor. If it wasn't for the peppers and onions (very few) on the plate, there would have been no flavor at all on the plate. 2 flour tortillas were all that was brought to the table originally. I know we could have asked for more but there was no need, because that was all the meat that we had so no need for anymore. The margarita tasted stale and sour and it was supposed to be top shelf. Probably the mix (I am bartender also).
The kicker comes at the very end of the meal. The bill arrived and I was stunned! I know INFLATION (I call it ‘The Fleecing of America’) but this place is out of control. The queso was $14.00! Really? And to top it all off, there was an upcharge to use credit card. I am not sure, but no one carries cash anymore and this is something that should be posted in big letters at the door “we charge more for credit card use”. This is the stuff that on-line retailers do, not local restaurants.
When I asked the server about this charge she just said, “oh I’m sorry and just smiled”. I also asked about the queso charge she just said “sorry”. I made the comment that “this is ridiculous, and I am through coming here”. She got snarky and said something along the lines of “I don’t need this kind of tone and I am a person and don’t need this”. I said thank you and started to pay my bill which she again made comments about my tone, which I said nothing and paid my bill with a 20% tip. She made the comment as we started to get up with these exact words “we don’t need your kind of customer in here”!
This is the main reason for this review. Service was good but those last comments were a killer for me. I pain well over $100 for 3 people to eat a mediocre Mexican restaurant. I would suggest to everyone, reach out to other establishments for Mexican food. There are several within about 20 minutes of this area. I will not name them in this review. Will NOT go back there again at the request of our server. Thank you for your...
