Donut Connection — Restaurant in Escanaba

My husband and I were on a road trip through the UP area and love trying different donut places and Donut Connection was our first donut stop on our trip.

Donut Connection is not the easiest place to find and is tucked away off the main streets in a very dated and uninviting shopping strip. The inside is reasonably sized but at the time we visited they had indoor seating closed so there is only access to the donut ordering area.

We arrived around 9:30 AM on a Saturday morning and there was one other patron who also arrived at the same time but by this time there was already a very small selection of donuts left. We didn't have to wait long for service but the woman who helped us was not friendly.

We ordered four donuts, some with frosting and filling and they were all stacked into a single bag. As a former bakery employee, stacking frosted donuts is an absolute NO. Unless your customer is like throw them all in a bag, you absolutely never stack frosted donuts.

The donuts were mediocre at best. They weren't bad but they also weren't anything special or to write home about. They were also on the smaller side for the price.
